NOTD Before & After: Barielle's End Of The Rainbow

Hello!!

Today's NOTD was inspired by today's challenge in my PFC group. Today we're supposed to do a manicure using the color turquoise, aqua, or jade, but what we do with it is up to us. Freestyle day, baby!

For my turquoise, I chose Barielle's End Of The Rainbow:

Barielle's End Of The Rainbow

End Of The Rainbow is a turquoise blue that goes a bit teal in some lights and at some angles. After wearing it for a while, I honestly couldn't wait to stamp on it. This is the first time I've been disappointed with a Barielle polish! Even with three coats you can see it didn't cover fully, and the color isn't nearly as pretty or rich as it looks in the bottle (probably because it's still too thin at that point). But, it is still turquoise-y, so it still counts for the challenge, and that's what really matters. :)

Here's the final look:

Barielle End Of The Rainbow + Zoya Maisie + Stamping

I wanted to give the polish some dimension and cover the bald spots, so I put on a coat of Zoya Maisie:, a beautiful blue-green flakie. Nicely done Zoya--very nicely done. Then, I stamped over it using Color Club Rule Breaker, which is sort of a dark jade green, using Mash plate Mash-43. As you can see, the stamping is subtle, and the flakies flirt with you out from under it. I really love how it came out; it looks like some sort of fizzy lifting drink that you'd find at Willy Wonka's factory. :)

One lesson I learned from this--when photographing a manicure using a flakie, don't hold the bottle! The bottle catches so much of the light, 90% of my pictures focused on that rather than my nails, even when I tried to avoid it.

Hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by, and please check out the other bloggers who made a turquoise/aqua/jade mani today, linked below. :)
