Before & After: Plum Blossoms

Hello!!!

When I first started going polish crazy, I bought myself a couple of Finger Paints polishes from Sally Beauty. Sadly, the first couple that I tried had really horrible formula and the colors didn't look nearly as pretty as they did in the bottle. In fact, I returned one because it was so disappointing. Because of that, I didn't buy anymore for quite some time.

Then, during a red-tag clearance sale (one of my great joys in life) I saw a color I loved, and despite my reservations, I got it, as it was only something like $1.50. It had an amazing formula, and was gorgeous. That made me take a chance on another couple during the next sale...which led to a few more...And the crazy thing is, all of them since have been beautiful and with lovely formula. So I am now officially a Finger Paints fan. :)

Here is the one that finally tipped the balance, Plum Startled, A deep purple with blue flashes that are almost to the point of duochrome, and a pretty flecked finish:

I wanted to play up the flecks, so I added a layer of Color Club's Pearl-Spective, a flakie topcoat. I decided to do my own take on the standard cherry-blossoms theme, by turning it into a plum-blossoms manicure. I stamped with Sally Hansen Lively Lilac using Konad plate m66:

Ah yes, that's what happens when you get a person who prefers jewel tones to pastels, and they decide to make a spring blossoms manicure! :)

Thanks for taking a look--I'd love to hear what you think of it. :)

Hugs, polish, and many rhinestones,
M.

  1. This is beautiful! :) I'm totally with you on the jewel tones...I love wine/plum stuff. I don't like pastels because they never cover my VNL, ever.

  2. I was the same way. The first few I got were just wretched, but ever since, smooth sailing. They must have come up with a better pigmentation system recently i guess. Or we had bad luck!

    1. I was wondering the same thing myself, luck or improvements...now that I hear it from someone else I'm leaning more toward improvements! Either way, I'm glad. :)
