NOTD: Nevermore

Hello!

This month's continuing theme in my Nail Challenge Collaborative is, of course, Halloween, giving me even more of an excuse to make awesome Halloween manicures. :)

I painted my nails too quickly and had some Seche Shrinkage, so I don't have a before shot for you today. :( But, I am pretty proud of how this one turned out, so here we go!

I started out with China Glaze Orange You Hot, a shimmery muted Tangerine that almost goes into a frost. Then I layered a coat of LynBDesigns Planet Skaro (an orange jelly with red, green, and gold glitters) over it to give some fall/Halloween colors to it. For the design, I stamped the skull design from BMH07 first with Konad black for the bottom half, and then with Konad white for the skull half. I finished off with a raven image from Bunny Nails plate HD04, also stamped with Konad black:

" 'Tis some visitor" I muttered, "Tapping at my chamber door--"

Only this and nothing more.

This was inspired by a trio of ravens that I have in my yard that come and eat the persimmons at the top of my tree. It's funny, I'm sure ravens must be around the rest of the year, but fall is when I really seem to notice them. There is a quiet beauty in them, but also a creepiness, although maybe that comes from too many readings of Poe's poem!

Thanks for checking it out; more Halloween manis are linked below!

Hugs and volumes of forgotten lore,
M.

  3. Anything referencing Poe is a-ok by me. I adore the raven perched on the skull. You have some mad stamping skillz, girlie :)

    1. Oh, and Seche can be so rude sometimes! Have you tried HK Girl Glisten and Glow? I'm thinking of giving that a shot.

    2. You are so kind! And no, I haven't, thanks for telling me about it. I'm on a never-ending quest to find something 3-free that does the job as good as Seche (and hopefully without the intermittent rudeness!)
