Review: Incoco Sweet Surprise Valentine's Day Collection

(Press sample)

Hello nail beauties!

Yep, believe it or not, it's February already. Am I the only one who feels like I was just putting up the Halloween decorations?

Well, no point living in the past when there are so many beautiful things to enjoy in the present! And what's more beautiful than love?

Incoco has put out their Sweet Surprise collection in time for Valentine's day, featuring five sets of nail wraps perfect for any romantic occasion you have looming on the horizon.

Let's start with Made With Love, which is my personal favorite from the collection:

This, my friends, this, this, THIS is what I want in a nail wrap. I love the look of the spun sugar technique, but I cannot motivate myself to make it happen, because I am crap at it. It takes me forever, and the results never come out looking quite right, and the mess makes me want to throw my polish across the room. But with these, I can get the look instantly, with no mess. And then I can use the time I saved to go out and rule the world!!! Muah hahh haaahhhh!!

(No, I'm not crazy. My mother had me tested, just like Sheldon's.)

I love this next set for similar reasons. Take a look at Sweet Surprise, the namesake of the collection:

Sweet Surprise has a pink base with teeny silver glitter, and multi-colored square and bar glitter. I love the look of bar glitter, but it can be tricky; it's hard to get the right balance with bar glitter so that you don't end up looking like you stuck your wet nails into your jeans pocket and pulled them out with a bunch of lint and hair stuck to your nails. These have the glitter spaced out beautifully for you, no dabbing no fuss, just sparkly pretty. These are great on their own, but also would look wonderful with nail art on top of them (and I'll be showing them to you that way soon). And without question the best thing about Incoco's glittered nail wraps is how easy they are to remove. You don't need to wrap your nails in foil or anything like that, they come off in a snap.

Next in the collection is Yours Truly, a soft pink wrap with French script printed over in red:

These are another set that would be very pretty on their own, or would be a lovely base for nail art. If you love the look of stamping but feel like you're not very good at getting things lined up consistently, this is a great way to get the look with very little fuss. They're very romantic and sweet. :)

If you're looking for something that has dramatic dazzle, look no further than Double Date:

Incoco Double Date

Double Date has a silver glitter base that gives off tons of shine and sparkle, with a hot-pink heart pattern over the top. If you want to add a little festivity to your Valentine's Day, these are going to do the job for you. I have some ideas percolating in my brain about some nail art with these...

And the fifth set in the collection is Love Spell, another one of my personal favorites:

This weekend I had a little love-themed get together for some of my friends, and I wore these nail wraps to the event--and I got several compliments on them. What I love best about this pattern is the colored-in hearts that have the scribbled look--that's something that's hard to do with nail stamping or other techniques, and it's such a sweet effect. I originally planned to do some accent stamping on the index nail, so I chose the wrap end that had the least pattern on it for that, but once I got them on, I loved the look the way it was and didn't want to mess with it. More and more when I have some event planned that leaves me short on time, I find myself turning to these wraps. In about 5-10 minutes I can get a complete look that's cute and gets me compliments, and get right back to the other things I have to do. In this case I had cupcakes and candy to make, and they came out very yummy, if I do say it myself. :)

While these wraps all easily fit the Valentine's theme, they are versatile enough to be used throughout the year. You can find them on Incoco's site by clicking here, in plenty of time for Valentine's Day. I'll be back with some nail art featuring these beauties, so stay tuned for that. :)

Hope you're having a wonderful week!
M.

  2. Gah, these are all so adorable, without being sickeningly sweet & cutesy! "Yours truly" & "Love spell" are especially nice.
