NOTD: Supernova Skittle

Hello!

Today I've combined two challenges for my manicure: this month's theme in the Nail Challenge Collaborative is 'Skittles', and today's theme in The Neverending Pile Challenge is to use as many untrieds as possible in one manicure; these both seemed to naturally go together for me. :)

My inspiration came came from Sweet Heart Polish Hurry Ba-ack, which I reviewed last time--and yes, I did snap up the limited edition set so I own my very own full-size of this. But it hasn't gotten here yet...So do I count this as a 'press sample', or as 'personal collection', lol? I'll let you decide.

The point is, that was my inspiration, and I wanted to do a campy sort of celestial skittle manicure based around it. Here is what I put together:

Here's what I did:

Index finger: Zoya Peyton (unused)
Middle finger: Mentality Foxy (unused); stamped with Konad black and Pueen 61 (from the Stamping Buffet set)
Ring finger: Sweet Heart Polish Hurry Ba-ack over Julep Kristy (a very dark midnight blue; unused)
Pinky (and thumb, not shown): Sinful Colors Starry Night (unused)

So, that total comes out to four unused polishes in one mani--not the most I'm sure, but not too shabby! I love the theme and I love the way the skittles came together. I hope you like it too!

Hugs,
M.

  3. Untried is untried no matter what the source. I like how this is fun & kinda vampy at the same time! <3

    1. Thank you! It's funny you say that, I almost used Payton for the 'vampy' one, but I ran out of time. :)

    1. It's one of my favorites, too. I'm still working on a good mani that uses the stripey version of it...

  5. Um, at first glance I thought those were some (odd looking, sure) coffee beans. :D
I do love the theme you went for, looks really great. And that must be pretty satisfying, huh, making such a dent into the untried pile? :)

    1. ROFL! Okay, it took me a minute to see that. I was like 'coffee beans?' But now I see them, lol. And awww, how sweet of you to say that it makes a dent in my untried pile...I have bought next to no polish (literally about 6 bottles only) since I quit my job in August, and I still have at least 50 untrieds in my box (and I've been doing most of my manis using untrieds for ages). No, I don't have a problem, why do you ask?? :P

  7. I couldn't wait to get those Pueens, but haven't used a single image yet. They all seem so....chunky? Will have to break them out soon! Oh, and I love this!

    1. Yes, I know what you mean. That's the reaction I had to them at first, too. Especially when you compare them to the ones like MoYou, which have much finer details. Definitely a very different type of look!
