Review & Test: MoYou London Gothic 02

(Nothing to disclose)

Hello!!

Halloween may be over, but  it's alive and well in my heart, and luckily I have several MoYou London Gothic plates to allow me to keep up the aesthetic without going over-board Halloween-y.

Today we're gonna take a look at Gothic 02; first up, here's the video:

And here are the stills of the plate:

One of the things I love about this plate is it's extremely versatile. There's plenty of Gothic mileage to be had here, but there are also plenty of other uses for this plate. The row of Celtic patterns at the bottom could be used for all sorts of beautiful manis, most stereotypically for St. Patrick's day. And the locks and keys...ah, the locks and keys...I think they're romantic and beautifully detailed and I see manicures in shades of reds and browns or pinks and whites for valentines day.

And, to give you a quick idea of the size of the images, here's a comparison to a standard Konad plate:

MoYou London Gothic 02 vs. Konad

So how did it stamp? I've used this plate for two manis now (which I showed you last time), and have had no problems with it. For today's manicure I started with a base of Orly Darkest Shadow, a stunning vampy fall/winter concoction of near-black purple base polish with teensy glitter and small hexes in an orange/red shade that give a duochrome effect:

I stamped on the ring and pinkie with the lattice pattern from MoYou London Gothic 04, using Barry M Gold Foil; I stamped on the pinkie using the thorn circle from and the index finger using the thorn strand (with Konad Red) and top-hat-vampire-skull guy from MoY0u London Gothic 02 (Barry M Silver Foil):

What do you think?! Isn't that top-hat-vampire-skull guy just the most adorablest thing ever?? I love the vampy, gothy look of this, and will be bummed when I have to remove it...sigh.

Oh, and for this one, I left my thumb just plain like the middle finger, to balance out the heavier stamping on the ring and pinkie. :)

Hugs and loves!

  1. What a fun plate this is. I do prefer full sized images better so I probably would pass on this one. Love the manicure you did with it though.

  2. LOL, "vampires are people too"! You're too funny.
This is a cool plate, you really can interpret the designs as you wish (romantic locks & keys, Celtic knots)..and then there's that posh skeleton guy with a top hat! :)

    1. Hee hee hee...what can I say, according to my penchant for late nights, I'm half-vampire, so I must champion the cause!! And yes, I think this is one of the most versatile plates I've seen. Pretty darn cool. :)
