Review: SinfulColors Back To School: A Class Act Collection

(Press sample; affiliate links)

Hello!

Today I have 10 selections from SinfulColor's 2015 Back To School: A Class Act Collection to show you! The total collection features 27 shades across a variety of colors, with shimmers, cremes, demi-mattes, and glitters. There's a lot to show you, so let's jump right in!

First up is Blue Sensation, a frosty metallic cornflower blue. It isn't listed as one of the demi-mattes of the collection, but it has a lovely wax/matte finish if you don't add topcoat:

I have two coats on in these photos, but you could easily get away with one. Formula and application were both excellent; I did get a little streaking on the second coat. I love the icy quality to this both with and without topcoat, and an added bonus of this polish is that it stamps beautifully!

Next is Burst Of Fresh Flair, a soft yellow shimmer:

This reminds me of a yummy lemon Italian ice on a hot summer day! The shimmer gives it a lovely depth and the shade of yellow is happy without being overwhelming. This is three coats, and there is still some visible nail line in some lights; this would be an excellent polish for stamping sammiches or for lead-lighting. Application was excellent.

Next we have Energetic Red, and orange-red creme or a red-orange creme, depending on the lighting and your personal perspective:

Whether you see it as red or orange, it's vibrant and saturated, and will transition you right from summer into fall colors. It's a sexy, passionate color and I love it. This is two coats, excellent formula and no problems with application.

Firmly in the orange family we have Feel The Vibe, a rich pumpkin creme:

This is a bright, fun orange with just enough of a serious edge to ease you in on into fall. The color makes me think of pumpkin spice lattes and Thanksgiving centerpieces. This is two easy coats, excellent application.

Next up is Ice Blue, a dusty lavender shimmer with a generous mix of blue fleck:

This is two coats, and you can see there is some slightly visible nail line; to avoid that, use three coats. Application was easy-peasy. I adore the finish on this, the way the purple and the blue flirt together with one another to create a frosty, magical mix. Le Sigh...

Next we have Ice Dream, a teal and silver glitter topper, over Burst Of Fresh Flair:

You can tell from the number of pictures that I love this glitter! This is one easy coat brushed on--no dabbing required. I'm a San Jose Sharks fan, so I love to have blingy bits on my fingers when I watch games with friends, and this is perfect for that. But for other things, too--how pretty is this combination! Over the yellow like this, it's a pretty summer maniure; over a tan or a brown it would be perfect for fall; over silver you have an instant winter mani, and you can rock it over any pastel for spring. Love, love love.

Next up is Purple Diamond, a lavender shimmer with a silvery fleck finish:

This is three coats and I have visible nail line in some lights (you can see it on the side of the ring and pinky where the light is hitting a bit differently). The formula on this is a little thinner than I normally would wear alone; I'd probably put it over undies in the future. The color is soft and feminine, but didn't play well with my skin tone. Very pretty, thought, and the application was excellent.

Next is one of my favorites in the collection, Rebel Rose, a gorgeous fuchsia with a cerulean shimmer:

I could live in this color year round, no problem. Bright. Sexy. Playful. This is two coats that went on like whipped butter on warm toast. You will be seeing nail art with this shortly, I promise you that.

Next we have VIPeach, which is strangely not peach at all, but a beautiful canary yellow demi-matte:

Despite being completely flummoxed by the name (maybe it's supposed to be VIP each?), I adore this polish. I love a good matte finish, and I love yellows that capture the fun of the color without being so bright you need to wear sunglasses; this is wearable by anyone, not just people in junior high. This is two coats, and I had no problems at all with application.

And to go out on a high note, I give you Why Not, a deep sky blue creme:

This polish is a one-coater, rich and saturated, with perfect application. The color is striking, and is another of my favorites here. Like many saturated blues, this will stain if you aren't careful; be sure to wear topcoat. When I remove a polish like this, I also put the pad with my remover at the cuticle and swipe down, then use a fresh section for the next swipe down, rather than going back and forth over the whole nail like I normally would. I did that here and had no issues.

How do I feel overall about these? I have always felt that SinfulColors is one of best brands out there in terms of bang for your buck, and these polishes live up to that expectation. Quality and a fun variety of finishes, all for $1.99 at Walgreens? You can't beat that, no two ways about it.

You can find these and the rest of the collection at Walgreens and other retailers; if you don't have a store that sells them near you, lots of their permanent shades are also available on Amazon.
