Review: messy Mansion Mosaic stamping polish collection

Hello!


Messy Mansion just released a new set of stamping polishes, called the Mosaic collection, made up of six cremes with a slightly more muted palette:

Messy Mansion Misty Jade, Bisque, Summer Heat, Amalfi Coast, Heliotrope, Delft Blue

Let's start with a comparison of these cremes to the same color families in Messy Mansion's other collections.


First up, the peach/oranges, Bisque, Happy Now, and Summer Heat:

Bisque is a soft peach, and Summer Heat is a muted orange, almost like a terra cotta. Happy Now is the brightest of the bunch.


Next, the greens: Forest, Misty Jade, and Spring Green:

Forest is a darker grassy green, Misty Jade is a minty pastel, and Spring Green has a more mossy feel.


Blues, anyone? Here's Hydrangea blue, Amalfi Coast, Delft Blue, Blue You A Kiss, and Spruce:

Lotsa pretty blues here, from light to dark to green-leaning teal.


And then we have the luscious purples, Lilac, Heliotrope, and Royal Purple:

Pastel, bright, and deep--which reminds me of something. How cool would these be together for stamping gradients?! Put your polish on in stripes, scrape in the same direction, and stamp--and voila. I've had issues trying to do gradient stamping with polishes of different brands, because the formulas can scrape differently and dry differently--so I'm looking forward to trying this technique out with polishes from the same maker.


Okay, but the most important part is--how do these stamp, and how do they show up over light and bright colors?

The colors stamp well, and the colors show up beautifully--rich and opaque over both white and black, except for Deflt Blue, which doesn't show up too well over the black. Which isn't a surprise, since it's a pretty dark blue, and as you can see, if the light hits it right you can see it--but you do have to look for it.


And, the second most important issue for stamping polishes, or maybe even tied for first, is whether or not they smudge easily. I've never had an issue with smudging with any of Messy Mansion's polishes, so I didn't expect to have a problem with this batch. I tested them out with Seche Vite, and here's how they turned out:

Not. One. Single. Smudge. It looks like there's some smudging on Delft Blue, but if you look at the before picture, you'll see the same thing there--that's me applying the black polish on the swatching stick unevenly.


So what do I think of these polishes? I love the colors and think they add great variety to my collection. They stamp beautifully--the colors are strong and the stamping crisp--and they don't smudge. Messy Mansion continues to be an instant go-to when I'm looking for easy, quality stamping.
