Shinespark Polish Winter 2017 Galaxy Collection!

(Press samples ahead!)

Hello!

You all know that some of my favorite things in the world are multichromes, holos, and flakies--so when I hear about a collection that has all three, I am ALL IN.

So I bring to you Shinespark Polish's Winter 2017 Galaxy collection, five jewel-toned multichrome polishes filled with a holo flakies. Each is named after a galaxy, and each will give you gorgeous galaxy nails in a jiffy--because they are one coaters. No, I'm not kidding.

Let's jump in with Shinespark Polish Andromeda Galaxy, which is a rich forest green that shifts to teal, with flashes of violet.

Coverage: 1 coat
Application: The formula is a little on the thick side, but not so it interferes with good application--this went on easy-peasy.

The shift in this shows a bit more in other lights, and you can see the color best on my pinkie here. This reminds me of full, lush Christmas trees, and sleigh rides in forests. There's just enough holo bling in there to give this a holiday sparkle.

Next we have Shinespark Polish Canis Major, a pink-purple polish with a shift to olive-gold:

Coverage: 1 coat
Application: Perfection. Smooth as buttah!

This polish is holidays at the vineyard--the pink/purple against the green shift makes me think of grapes on vines, and plum puddings surrounded by sprigs of holly. The finish on this is reminiscent of a glass-fleck finish, something I love, and this is my very favorite of the collection.

Next up is Shinespark Polish Circinus Galaxy, a deep navy blue that shifts to violet:

Coverage: 1 coat
Application: Excellent.

This is the quintessential galaxy polish--deep, mysterious, and compelling. The holo glitters are a perfect spray of stars in the sky. Put galaxy-nail art over it, or just leave it as it is--it's just sexy, plain and simple.

And then there's Shinespark Polish Milky Way, a fleck-effect polish with aqua-navy-purple-pink shift:

Application: Perfection

This. Is. Amazing. And it's even more amazing in person--the purple doesn't so much shift as flow over the surface--it's mesmerizing. If Circinus Galaxy is the perfect night sky, this is the night sky you see in your dreams, when the sun has set over a land filled with candy and you're out dancing with fairies. Every time I look at this, it threatened to push Canis Major out of my favorite slot.

And finally, we have Shinespark Polish Sagittarius Galaxy, a burnished plum that shifts to a coppery red-orange:

Coverage: 1 coat
Application: The formula is was a little thick side, but application wasn't bad. The glitters in this did seem to be a little more three-dimensional than in the others, so you might want to put two coats of topcoat on this one.

This is what the sugar-plum fairy wears when she goes out with her beau to a ball, and dances the night away under a star-filled sky. Its elegant, and it just screams 'holidays' to me.

So what do I think of the collection as a whole? I think it lives up to what Molly wanted to create--each polish is beautiful to wear as is, but would also be amazing as a base for galaxy-nail art. And for regular nail art, too--I've already done a night snowfall mani with one of the polishes I'll show you soon. When you combine multichrome and holo and flakie all in one polish, balance is crucial, I think--the multichrome in these flirts with you rather than drop-kicks you, and the scattered holo is lush without going into disco ball territory. They're elegant and sophisticated and posh.

You can find the collection on sale now in the Shinespark store, available as a collection or individually. And don't forget to follow Shinespark around the interwebs, here:

Happy polishing,
M. xoxo
