Zoya's Jubilee Holiday 2018 collection!

Today I have Zoya's new Jubilee Holiday 2018 collection to show you...seriously, this year is flying past, it seems like I just blogged about the fall collection, and it's already time for the winter collection! I'm pretty sure it was just April a few days ago--where has the year gone?!


To start off, if you like to see the bottles in motion, here's a quick unboxing video I did of the collection:

And now let's jump into the beauties! First up is Zoya Allison, a luscious berry creme:

Allison is a festive berry with a fall twist, in that she has a slightly more subdued feel than berries you'd see in spring or summer collections. A great splash of color against your fall sweaters, leading right on in to holiday happiness.


Next up is Zoya Astrid, a fleck-finish polish that shifts from gold to bronze to copper:

If you took all the most beautiful golden fall leaves, crushed them up, then put them in a nail polish base, this is what you'd get. When I first saw this, I thought it might be a topper--but no, it's dense enough to cover in two coats, and even one coat will cover any undies you tried to put under it. This polish is like wearing burnished gold leaf on your nails, but is far, far easier to apply. ;-)


Next we have Zoya Carson, a medium-tan creme:

Coverage: One-two coats; I needed two, but you might be okay with one.
Application: Excellent

Carson is a cafe au lait with extra creme, and whipped chocolate frosting. She makes a great neutral for any fall palette, on into winter--the perfect fingers for picking up all those gingerbread men.


Next we have Zoya Chiara, a grape creme:

Coverage: Two coats on me, but one might work for you.
Application: Excellent

Chiara is a bright pop of color for any fall outfit--she's a rich grape jelly or deep African violet. If you love color but want to stay away from traditional holiday reds and berries, this is the perfect option to keep you vibrant.


Next we have one of my favorites in the collection, Zoya Cookie, which is a grape pixie dust textured glitter:

I await the release of new pixies like I await my first cup of coffee in the morning--and the two in this collection do not disappoint. The gold glitter in this is perfect for the holiday--it's like gold ribbon tied around a beautiful present under the tree. What's better that sugar plums? Gilded plums, of course! This is one of my favorite polishes in the collection, and one of my favorite pixies ever.


Next is Zoya Danica, a rich blue-leaning teal creme:

As a San Jose Sharks fan, it's a moral imperative that I love anything teal. However, even if I weren't a Sharks fan, I'd love this polish. It's deep like the depths of the ocean, with a bold drama. I'll be wearing it constantly this season.


And then we have another of my absolute favorites, Zoya Juniper, a blue-leaning teal pixie dust:

Oh. My. God. This is like a gorgeous blue spruce come to lie on my nails! It has a peep of purple shimmer to it that my camera just didn't want to capture, but that makes the polish even more magical. One of word of warning--as with a lot of deep blue polishes, this will stain if you aren't careful. So, as always kids--use protection. I usually don't use basecoat with texture polishes, but I'd recommend it here--and I promise you, she's worth the effort.


Then we have Zoya Kateri, a dark chocolate creme:

Kateri is rich espresso beans and devil's food cake. It's the perfect deep neutral for when you want something dark on your nails, but don't want to go goth. She cries out for plaids and houndstooth and winter flannel.


Then we have Zoya Leigh, a beige creme:

Leigh completes the trio of neutrals in this collection, and this covers the light end of the scale. It has a creamy sophisticated feel, and is a perfect base of all sorts of nail art. Love.


Next we have something completely different: Zoya Leopard Spots, a specialty top coat designed to create a leopard-spot effect when you put it over textured polish. Here it is over the two pixies in the collection:

Application: Excellent; dries very quickly

This is a version of a crackle polish, and it does give an interesting effect over the texture polishes, which break up the crackle effect. I think how leopard-y this looks depends on the base color--I think it has a more leopard effect over Cookie than Juniper, and I think if you put it over a beige or brown polish, it would be ideal.

I wanted to see how it looked over a regular polish, so I tried it over Maxine:

Over the regular polish this looks a bit more like a regular crackle, although it's a bit stringier and I like that effect, too. I've always been a fan of crackles, so I'm happy to have this version in my collection.


Next we have Zoya Maxine, which is a light tomato red creme:

Maxine is red Christmas wrapping paper and Hollywood glamour lipstick. She's bright and sassy and fun.


And then we have Zoya Taryn, a fuchsia-to-cherry duochrome shimmer:

When I saw the shift in the bottle, I hoped desperately that it would show on the nail--and it does! She's iridescent ribbon candy and pretty little girls in magical party dress--oh, forget that, it's just pretty party dresses at any age.


So what do I think of this collection? I think it has a traditional feel to me, covering both a bit of fall with the neutrals and the teals, then taking you into winter with those gorgeous pixies and the duochromes. It has a good base of cremes, with enough specialty polishes to give you pop when you want some extra fun. And I love the crackle twist.
