NOTD: Mystery polishes...:)

Hello!!

Today I'm going to show you two manicures I did while playing around with my AIS challenge for today...but I'm not going to tell you what the base polishes are. I'll be reviewing them in two days, so I'm going to leave you wondering until then...but if you guess right in the comments, I'll confirm. :)

So the theme for this week in AIS was to use Gold, Silver, or Bronze in a manicure. I played around a bit, and for the first manicure, I decided to try to use all three:

So for the base polish I used...HA! You can't get me that easily! Over the base polish I put a gold flakie, full on the ring finger, and sponged halfway down on the other fingers. Then I stamped using Bundle Monster plate BM-207 and Pure Ice Silver Mercedes and Fast Lane. I like how this came out, even if I splotched the stamping a little bit. :)

For the second one, I decided to focus on the color gold. I used it as a base, and then added Orly Sashay My Way on the ring finger. I sponged my contrasting color over the tips for a gradient-like effect:

As far as Sashay My Way goes, I have to admit I didn't really go crazy for the glitters in that collection, but I do love this one (I got Mermaid Tale too, can't wait to try it). The combination of the hexes and the bar glitter is really appealing, I think, and I can't wait to use this for a New Year's Eve manicure. With that base, it sort of looks like bubbles going up a champagne glass, I think. :)

So there you go, two manicures using gold, silver, and/or bronze somewhere in them. While this wasn't specified as an Olympic theme in the challenge, of course I couldn't help think of that, and I enjoyed playing around with these colors all the more because of the games. :)

Thanks for looking!

M.

    1. Thank you! I fell in love with the color myself, it's much nicer than I thought it was going to be when I ordered it. :)
