Before & After: Trippy Tinsley

Hello!

This is the time of summer when people start talking about how summer will be over soon...and I just hate that. Why harsh the mellow by focusing on the fact that it's going to end soon? Why not just enjoy it while it's here? In that spirit, my post today features a very summery polish and a very summery manicure. :)

I started with a base of Zoya Tinsley, a beautiful orange-pink-gold duochrome with a fleck finish. This is two coats with topcoat:

This polish looks like a beautiful tropical sunset to me; it just glows. :)

I wanted to work with the colors, so I chose Sally Hansen Orange Impulse and Lightning to stamp with. I used a retro flower image from Cheeky Jumbo Plate 4 (Top Of The Class), and finished off with a pink rhinestone on the accent nail:

Trippy, man...

Simple, fast, fun, and very summery. I hope you like it too--thanks for taking a look!

Hugs and many remaining long summer evenings,
M.

  1. Very pretty!! I saw a color similar to this and for some reason it was labled holographic. I don't know why but I have seen a bunch of polish makers calling duochrome polishes holographic. Do you have a theory in why they are doing this??

    1. Hmm, no theory, but I do know that when I was first initiated into the realms of the polish obsessed, I had no idea what the difference was. In fact, one of my first posts was about that, because I had to research the difference, lol! But you'd think polish-makers would be up on the lingo...was it maybe a bad translation?

  2. Gah, I HATE the people telling me summer is coming to an end!! We had such a long, wet, cold and overall dreary winter, then practically no spring and now they're trying to get me down with this nonsense??!
You're right wearing such summery (and shimmery and glow-y) manicures!! :))

    1. I know, right? I spend way too much time thinking about tomorrow instead of focusing on today as it is, I don't need extra pushes in that direction! It's been a goal of mind the past few years to be more mindful and present in today! :)
