Before & After: Green Skittle Serendipity

Hello!

Today I have a fun skittle mani to show you...lately my skittle manis have been of the two-and-two variety, with the index and middle finger one color, and the ring and pinky another. That's my favorite format, so I decided to go outside of the box a little with this one. I chose these colors because they were sitting by chance on my table together and I thought 'oooo, those look so pretty together!". Hurray for serendipity:

Index: Barielle Green Apple Chew
Middle/ring: The Lady Varnishes Dwimorberg
Pinky: Zoya Chita

I added a coat of Nayll Hydrangea (my creation) to the ring finger, and then I stamped over everything with Sally Hansen Mint Sprint, using Pueen Collage plate 73:

So what do you think? Do you like it overall? Does one of the fingers have a design you like better than the others?

Hugs and loves,
M.

  1. Love the ring finger nail -- it's got a dreamy, magical thing going on that just sends me! I think it's because the glitter colors tie in so well with your stamping color, and the base is the perfect backdrop.

  2. Your nails are such a pretty shape! I love the shades of green and aqua-- it gives these an air of serenity :) I think I like the stamping over the Barielle the best, it really complements that green nicely.

  4. Ahh, Chita ♥

"[...]lately my skittle manis have been of the two-and-two variety, with the index and middle finger one color, and the ring and pinky another" -- poor lil thumb, all neglected again. :P But really, how do you paint that one when doing skittles? Like, I currently have a yellow&pink water marble design on my middle&ring finger nails, and plum creme on the rest.

Me, I like the middle one best; I think there's just "too much going on" on the ringer finger nail. And Chita is just to gorgeous on its own and shouldn't be messed with! :)

    1. ROFL!! So chivalrous you are, you refuse to see them sidelined and subjugated! I will try to force myself to include it at least once in a while, lol. :P It depends on the skittle. For this one, and ones like this, I matched the thumb to the pinky, so in this case the amazing Chita was the answer. if I do a two-by-two, usually the thumb will match the index and middle, so that my two hands together look like they're mostly one color with just a little color dip on the end (if that makes sense at all, lol).

    2. :D Nah, you just continue doing what you're doing; it's actually become a sort of running gag, a game of "where is/spot the thumb". :D Besides I can understand it can make for a difficult hand pose and all that.. I was just really curious how you pair (or not) them up with the rest; I know bloggers often don't show those fingers, but you know, us mere mortals do have thumbs :D (and sometimes hardly any artistic inclinations, so I often draw inspiration from you lot).
Thanks for your explanation, it does make a lot of sense.

    3. I'll try to slip you a thumb here and there when it will help show the whole concept, like with skittles (wow, that sounded a little X-rated there, lol!). Hugs hugs hugs
