Hello!
Today I have a quick manicure--quick because it's 90% Incoco nail appliques and 10% art added by me. This week fast is of the essence for me, so let's take a look!
This mani is made with two sets of Incoco nail appliques, both from their summer 2014 Metropolis collection. I love ever set in this collection--it has an urban feel, but not in a dark sort of way; the colors are bright and fun. It also makes me think of Frank Lloyd Wright, the sort of lines that you see in his buildings and decorative elements.
I have Backstage Beauty on three fingers, and Happy Hour on my accent nails (ring and thumb, thumb not shown, lol!). Happy Hour is a solid coral, and Backstage Beauty is a collage of fashion-themed words in a rainbow of coral, pink, red, orange and purple, over a white pearl base.
I left the Backstage Beauty nails as they were. On the Happy Hour nails, I saran-wrapped a few dabs of Julep Melissa, which is an opalescent pearl; this gave a pearlish background to the nail that matched the look of the others. Then I stamped the word 'Fashion' twice (in two fonts) over each nail, using Sally Hansen Red-io Active, and Pueen 50:

This is a great way to get double-duty out of your extra nail wraps. Say I had only two nail wraps that were either the right size or I could cut down to the right size from a previously used set. I can quickly use those extras to make accent nails, to give the manicure a little extra oomph. In this case I used the solid color for the accent nail because I wanted to do some nail art on them, but the reverse would have been very cute, too--all coral with either one or two accent nails in Backstage Beauty would have been cute, and a little more subtle, if you prefer that.
The point is--don't throw away those extra nail wraps! There are sooo many possibilities. :)
I hope you are having a great week now that your Monday is history! :)

ohhhh!! so fun and creative! I'm too lazy to ever do my nails! lol
ReplyDeleteNail wraps are a really great way to do your nails quickly. Incoco's last a darn long time, too (no, they don't pay me to say that, lol!) :)
Deletethese are so cool!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely lovely! I love that you mixed the pattern with your own art! <3
ReplyDeleteI can't leave anything alone, lol! :)
DeleteNow I just need to find the time to make this happen :)
ReplyDeleteSeriously, the nail wraps are easy easy. Generally you can do it in about 10-15 minutes (longer if it's your first time, but not much). No mess because they aren't wet, and they last in good condition for at least a week in my experience. Just skip the nail stamping I did on the accent nail, lol!
DeleteYour nails looks amazing, love that you mixed the patterns :-)
ReplyDeleteThese are nice! I really like them.
ReplyDeletebeautiful patterns and beautiful post x
ReplyDeleteTsk tsk, I'm disappointed ... no thumbnail shown! ;P
ReplyDeleteBut seriously, this is so cute. Love the positioning & overlapping of your stamped images.
ROFL!! That disclaimer was for you, hee hee!!! And thank you so much. :)
DeletePretty nails! This reminds me that I need to paint mine for the 4th of July ASAP!
ReplyDeleteI have to get with it, I still haven't planned my mani for the 4th yet--bad nail blogger!! :)
DeleteWow! These are awesome and fun and so creative! Great job :)
ReplyDeletethese look great! i wonder how different they are from jamberry.
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried Jamberry yet, but going by the quality of their lacquer, I'm sure Jamberry are great. Of the wraps I have tried, I prefer Incoco, by far.
DeleteNail Appliques don't like me! These look fabulous!
ReplyDeleteLOL! I don't believe it for a second. :P And thanks! :)
DeleteBeautiful! Great tip with the accent nails. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you thank you! :)
DeleteWow, Love these! the design is great... I've never really liked nail wraps, I just think i need practice using properly.
ReplyDeleteI think the brand can make a difference, too. Incoco wraps are good to work with because you can reposition them as you're working, and they even stretch. :)
DeleteLove these designs! I need to get more creative with my own nails now!
ReplyDeleteGlad I inspired you! :)
DeleteSuper cute! Love the nails :) I need to get more creative...I always stick to the same colors.

Nothing wrong with knowing what works for you. But I admit, I need variety (I guess that's obvious, lol!)
DeleteOh my gosh, I love this manicure!
ReplyDeleteThis is crazy! I'm lucky if I don't get polish on my nailbeds
ReplyDeleteMe too. I've given up trying not to get polish everywhere--my trick is I use a nail art brush (you can use an old eyeliner brush) dipped in polish remover or acetone, run it around my cuticles where I had and oops (or fifty) and voila! Of course, with nail wraps, I avoid that problem completely, lol. :)
DeleteHow fun!
ReplyDeleteThank you thank you! :)
DeleteVery cool! Love the design
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
DeleteSuch a cool idea. They look fab!
ReplyDeleteFun and very detailed!! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteToo cool! Love the term {saran-wrapped} and will have to try it on my nails!
ReplyDeleteIt's sooooo easy! Just take a small piece of saran-wrap, crumple it up, dip it in a dot of polish, and dab it on your nails. Give a lovely textured look, easy peasy!
DeleteSuch a unique color combination!
