Hello!
Okay, so, some of you got an accidental sneak peek of this manicure because I hit the wrong button when I scheduled it...it's been a while since I've done that, but I had hoped to never do it again...so I'm gonna spin it like it was a VIP thing if you got to see it. ;-)
My base color today is the third and final polish I have (so far) from the awesome Blink Of An Eye collection, which is a set of saturated matte polishes that have crazy dimension and an awesome waxy finish. If you missed the other two, you can see Misa Eye Candy here, and Misa Lash Out here.
But for now, let's take a look at High Brow, a vampy aubergine with hints of fuschia flecks:

I decided this would be the perfect night-time Halloween sky type of base polish; so I used it as a the background for a spooky-licious spider-cure:
To make this, I stamped the web using Bundle Monster H07 (you can find my review of this set here) and Barry M Silver Foil, and the spider with Bunny Nails HD-D (you can find my review of this set here) and Sally Hansen Lickety-Split like and Pronto Purple. I used the stamping+foil technique on all the stamping--silver over the silver, purple over the purple, and green kaleidoscope holo over the green. :) If you missed my tutorial for the stamping+foil technique, you can find it by clicking here.
And, for reasons I'll never understand, while I was making the manicure, my head put together a poem about it, so I thought I'd share it with you:
In darkest night
The spiders crawl
Cross silver'd web
Come one, come all
Along your ear
Across your face
Sleep well, my dear
They'll leave no trace...
Nighty-night,
M. :)
Awesome spider nails! Love the cobwebs here.
ReplyDeleteI like this creation, I'm such a big fan of your nail art creations! <3

Thank you so much!! That means the world to me. :)
Delete*shudder* that poem.. I could almost feel spiders crawling all over me. :P Though these can be sort of kinda maybe..a tiny bit cute (because sparkly! :)).
ReplyDeleteBut yay for a VIP treatment, lol. And I just love that Misa collection (I'll have to look into an option of a matte topcoat with that waxy finish).
Hee hee hee...I take that as a huge compliment that it creeped you out...but I do apologize, lol! And it's amazing what a little sparkle can improve, isn't it? ;-)
DeleteWow, this looks amazing! I haven't tried nail foils yet, but I clearly need to. I am impressed that you can use them over a stamp, the polish from a stamp always seems to dry really quickly for me. Whenever I get my hands on some foils, I'll try it!
ReplyDeleteI wondered the same thing when I say it. But I guess they stay just the right amount of wet--I guess that explains why stamping will smear with certain top coats if you don't wait a few minutes. Who knew?! :)
