Hello!
So guess what? My third novel has gone through a bunch of rounds of edits and even out to an editor, and it's ready--so I've started looking for agent for it. Exciting and terrifying both!
It put me in the mood to do a manicure related to books and writing...And I've been really enjoying my new Messy Mansion stencil kit, so I decided to see what I could come up with. :)
I started with a base of Zoya Noah, a great neutral and a great base for nail art:

First I used the art deco image on the upper right of this stencil:

I used the second-pass technique because I wanted to batik-y sort of image (see my post here for the technique); I chose Messy Mansion Red-y Or Not for my polish. I wanted a heavy image on my accent nails, and lighter images on my other nails. Then I stamped images from Messy Mansion 24:
Messy Mansion MM24 |
For that I used Messy Mansion Carbon. Here's how it came out:
Deco Writer: Zoya Noah + Messy Mansion stencil kit and MM24 |

What do you think? I like how the heavier background on the accent nails contrasts with the lighter image on the other nails, and I think this has a rich Victorian feel that makes me feel like I'm inside some fancy book. I love it. :)
Happy stamping!
M.
