(Press samples and affiliate links ahead!)

Hello!

Happy Chinese New Year!

Okay, I'm a little early, but Messy Mansion just released a Chinese New Year plate, and I wanted to get this up in case you want to grab it in time. Here's the video review I did:

And here's a look at the plate:

The full-nail images on the plate are 3/4 of an inch wide (1.9 cm approx) and one inch tall (2.5 cm approx), and here's a relative look at the rest:

How does it stamp? The images stamped beautifully:

I was lucky enough to grow up in a city where we had a pretty cool Chinese New Year celebration every year, and I was always completely entranced by the dragon propelled by a row of people holding it up and making it move. It was mesmerizing the way it moved in different ways, but somehow together, too. So, for my sample manicure, I wanted to recreate that parade experience. I started with a blue-sky background--a base of Zoya Saint, with the circle pattern stamped over in Messy Mansion Blue You A Kiss. Then I created decals of the dragon, with Messy Mansion Red-y Or Not and Banana Bender. Finally, I stamped firecrackers, medallions, coins and envelopes in Messy Mansion Soft Gold. Here's how it came out:

What do you think? I am obsessed with how awesome the dragon is on this plate, and I love how the segments being disjointed over the nails brings me back to that snaking dragon.

You can find the plate and the polishes in Messy Mansion's store; you can also find most of their products on Amazon if that's easier for you. And don't forget to follow them on Facebook and Instagram for news and inspiration!

Happy stamping,
M.
