Hello!!
The spring 2015 collections have started to come out (how is it February already?!!), and I have my first one to show you today: Barielle's Gentle Breeze collection. As you'd expect for spring, this collection is soft, gentle, inviting. But it's not stereotypical...
To see what I mean, check out Champagne Bubbles. This is a soft toasted ginger crelly that will function as a neutral for most people, and is an almost universally flattering shade:

This is three coats; this is a sheer polish that can easily be used for techniques like lead-lighting. The formula is good, and application was perfect. And I adore the way it looks on me; it's creamy and makes me think of butterscotch candies. :)
Next up is Gray Sky, a dove-gray with a silky shimmer:

I don't normally lean toward grays, although I do use them a lot for nail art. But I loved wearing this one, and will definitely wear it again; it's a bit happier than a typical gray, but not so blingy as a silver. I got several compliments while I was wearing it...This is two coats of excellent formula and very good application, although you can probably get away with one coat, no problem.
Heaven Sent is a light robin's egg blue that makes me think of bright spring skies:

This is also two coats; the formula was excellent (same with all the cremes in this collection), and application was perfect, with no pulling.
We can't have a spring collection without a pink in it, can we? Pink Parasol is a bubble-gum-cotton-candy creme that will delight your girly side:

This is three coats because I had a little pulling with two, and wanted to make sure everything was smooth. The formula was good, not pooling or anything like that.
And to put the icing on the cake, we have Under The Sea, a shimmery blue-leaning teal that dies to a soft satin finish; I'm showing it here with no topcoat so you can see:

This is my favorite of the collection, hands down. I love that it's a deeper color, but has the right balance of blue to make it fit well into a spring palette--the shimmer and depth really do make me think of the ocean.
I love the way this collection gels together--I was instantly inspired by it, and I'll show you what came of that inspiration next time--yes, I've already done some nail art with it!
The last couple of collections I received from Barielle stamped really well, so I tested this one out. I didn't have high hopes for Champagne Bubbles since it's sheer, but I was pleasantly surprised that it stamped, too!

For all of these except Champagne Bubbles, you can get away with stamping over colors that are somewhat darker, and Gray Sky stamps over even very dark colors, too. So get your stamping groove on, baby!
So overall I'm very happy with this collection; it applies well, look beautiful, and stamps nicely. You can buy the collection on Barielle's website, or anywhere else that you find Barielle's polishes.
Don't forget to check back next time to see the manicure I did with three of these polishes!
Hugs,
M.
Champagne Bubbles is breathtakingly beautiful on you, Michelle.

DeleteI love mine, Heaven sent is absolutely amazing. I love that you stamped with these, ill have to use a couple of them for stamping for sure!
ReplyDeleteI love it when I can get double use out of a polish. And so many polishes don't stamp very well. :(
DeleteI need gray sky and under the sea in my collection!
ReplyDeleteGreat taste! ;-)
DeleteI have to say I really like these, but I love pastels!

DeleteLove Heaven Sent and Pink Parasol ❤
ReplyDeleteI know its spring and all but it sure doesn't feel like it. To me it seems like all these colors are repeats to me. I hate when that happens.
ReplyDeleteTime is going waaay too fast for me these days. I feel like it was just Halloween, and I'm gearing up for Valentine's day already!
DeleteI love that you include stamped swatches. Every time I see this kind of post I always wanna ask "But does it stamp?!" lol Thank you!!
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure! I'm the exact same way, what with my stamping addiction and all, lol. If you're looking for a blog that does a TON of stamping tests, check out http://www.inkywhiskersmusings.blogspot.com/ . She hasn't done as many in the last few months, but she did just do a comparison of different whites and blacks that was soooo informative. :)
DeleteChampagne Bubbles and Heaven Sent are my favorites! I can't believe I don't own any Barielle polishes.
ReplyDeleteI think they're more common in some places than others. But you can find them online pretty easily, and of course directly from their site. :)
DeleteI love all of these. Great swatches
ReplyDeleteThank you thank you!!
DeleteI'm not crazy about this particular collection, but I have loved some of the other ones Barielle has put out in the last year.
ReplyDeleteThey did a Mardi Gras one that still takes my breath away to this day...sigh...:)
DeleteMmmmm. Under the Sea is dreamy. I don't think anyone around here sells Barielle, but I'd love to try them!
ReplyDeleteThey have good sales on their site, keep an eye out for those. I also get them from Transdesign and Head2toebeauty (both online shops). :)
DeleteI loved Champagne Bubbles, looks so glossy!
ReplyDeleteI so love that one...perfect for anything!
