Monday Blues & The Neverending Pile Challenge: Cygnus Skittle

Hello!

Today again we are going to stretch the boundaries of Monday Blues with a Blurple duochrome that turns red and bronze at the edges. I give you I <3 Nail Polish Cygnus Loop, which is also the most expensive untried in my pile (today's theme in The Neverending Pile Challenge):

I've been in a skittle state of mind, so I decided to skittle this lovely, inspired by the colors she flashes:

For the index finger, I stamped using MoYou London Greek Mythology collection 02, and Sally Hansen Red-io Active. For the middle finger, I added a coat of Different Dimension Penny!!!. For the pinkie, I used red and rust and orange-copper glequins, and a light purple triangle sequin. And of course, I left the ring finger plain, so the original polish could shine on through. :)

So there you go--a sexy skittle to help you through your Monday. Hope you're having a good (or at least short) one!

Hugs,
M.

Before & After: Mutagen Graveyard

(All products in this post were purchased with my own money.)

Hello!!

Today is one of those days when I have a deeply special polish to show you. This is I <3 NP Mutagen, one of their gorgeous new multichrome polishes; this particular one is green, blue, and purple, and even some rose gold. Here are a ridiculous number of photos, to show you all the beautiful shifts:

Something about this said Halloween to me, probably the strong purples and greens, so I decided to do a Halloween manicure with it--this was actually one of the first ones I did this year, in anticipation of the prompt theme for today, which is 'Graveyard'.

I saw a different Halloween manicure that did a cool shadow stamp technique, so I decided to try it out myself. I first stamped my tombstones with Sally Hansen Orange Impulse, and then stamped over it again with Konad white (the image is from Bunny Nails, HD03, and she has a slightly smaller version on her new plates):

Here lies Jonathan Blake

Instead of the brake

These pictures can't capture how cool the shadow stamping looked against the multichrome in motion--I wish I'd taken a video of it. But you can see how well the colors work together, and how great this polish is for a Halloween mani. :)

Don't forget to check out the other graveyard manis below, when they get linked up. :)

Hugs and loves,
M.

Before & After: What all the best-dressed zombies are wearing

Hello!

Fall fashions are upon us, and one of the most important fashion questions needs to be answered: what does the stylish, fashion-forward zombie wear on her nails when resting up from the pressures of brain-hunting on a lovely romantic zombie date?

Here's the perfect answer. Start with a base of Finger Paints Harvest Hues; this is a deliciously putrid shade of green that will accentuate all of those rotting tones in your skin. Next, add a coat of I <3 Nail Polish So Ghoul, and clear-based topper with pea-soup green, black, purple, and gunmetal gray-purple glitters that will help call attention to your well-earned abrasions and pus pockets:

I myself recently wore this look out to a dinner, and got nothing but compliments from my zombie girls. Unfortunately, I don't ever seem to make it through an evening without spilling something on myself when I'm eating, and tonight was no exception:

What did the zombie say to his date?

I just love a woman with BRAAIIINS!

So take heed ladies, because that brain matter and spinal fluid stains something fierce, and is just a nightmare to get out!

Stay tuned next time for my tips on which topcoats will hold up best when ripping through flesh and pulling out entrails!

XOXO,
M.
