Lantern & Wren Beep! Beep!

(Press samples ahead!)

Hello!

I'm back with another Polish Pickup polish, this one from Lantern & Wren! This month's theme is 'duos', and the duo Carleigh picked is Roadrunner & Coyote (specifically the Roadrunner's crest, hehehe). Let's take a look:

Lantern & Wren Beep! Beep!

Lantern & Wren Beep! Beep!

Lantern & Wren Beep! Beep!

Lantern & Wren Beep! Beep!

Coverage: 2 coats
Formula and application: Excellent! Average dry-time.

Beep! Beep! is a blurple with a crelly-like consistency, but no glitter. Instead it has a coppery-purple-pink shimmer that looks like the polish has been given a healthy dose of Unicorn Pee, hehe. It's vampy with a gorgeous dose of magic. :)

And here's the manicure I did with the polish:

Lantern & Wren Finally Fall and Backgrounds over Beep! Beep!

Base Polish(es): Lantern & Wren Beep! Beep!
Stamping Plate(s): Lantern & Wren Finally Fall and Backgrounds
Stamping Polish(es): Hit The Bottle Copper-Haired Girl

I love how copper stamping looks with blue polishes that have a dose of purple/copper shimmer in them, and I think this gives a classy look. :)

You can buy this polish between Feb 1-4th during Polish Pickup's February sale, and in the meantime, check out Lantern & Wren here. :)

Big hugs,
M. xoxo

The Lady Varnishes Sky Reflections

(Press samples ahead!)

Hello!

This month's Polish Pickup theme is "Duos", which the polish makers are able to interpret anyway they like, and this month The Lady Varnishes' duo is 'sea and sky'. For the 'sky' half, she's created this beautiful polish, The Lady Varnishes Sky Reflections:

The Lady Varnishes Sky Reflections

The Lady Varnishes Sky Reflections
Coverage: 2-3 coats; I'm wearing 2
Formula: Excellent application, good dry time. Love!

You guys! The smoky purple shimmer in this against the sky blue and the silver flecks is *everything*. This is like an adult version of spring in a bottle. It has that magic, but isn't little-girl pastel. I LOVE this. :)

Here's a mani I did with the polish:

Base Polish(es): The Lady Varnishes Sky Reflections
Stamping Plate(s): Dixie Plates Spring 02
Stamping Polish(es): Moyra Silver and Moonflower Polish Amatista

The Lady Varnishes Sky Reflection will be available February 1st through 4th in the Polish Pickup store! In the meantime, you can find The Lady Varnishes here. :)

M. xoxo

Dixie Plates Love 2019 plate

(Press samples and affiliate links ahead!)

Hello!

No, no, no. I absolutely refuse to believe that January is already almost over. NO.

*sigh*

But it is, and that means it's time for Valentine's Day...so today we're gonna take a look at Dixie Plates Love 2019 plate. :)

Here's the video review I did:

And here's a closer look at the plate:

Dixie Plates Love 2019

Here are a few test swatches I did:

On to the manis! Here's one I did because I truly do believe that even when the world seems like an evil place, love really does win:

Base Polish(es): Sally Hansen Racing Rose
Stamping Plate(s): Dixie Plates Love 2019

My next mani celebrates love birds, which I think are a great spring-mani image as well as just a 'love' mani image:

Base Polish(es): Supernatural Lacquers In Search of Ourselves

Base Polish(es): Zoya Cadence
Stamping Plate(s): Dixie Plates Love 2019
Stamping Polish(es): Girly Bits White Wedding, Little Black Dress, Fire-Engine Red

For this last one, I should mention that this heart pattern is meant to be layered with two other patterns, but I wanted to try it out on its own--I think it's a really cute image this way!

So what do you think? Do any of these images speak to you?

You can find this plate for sale now in Dixie Plates' store, or if you're in the US or Canada, at either Lantern & Wren, Girly Bits, or Beautometry. :)

UberChic Beauty Collection 28

(Press samples and affiliate links ahead!)

Hello!

So, I've had a busy couple of weeks...I just finished going over the copyedit for my book, the one that's going to come out in May, and then also submitted the first draft of my second book to my publisher! I've been working around the clock to get it all done, and it's nice to have a break to play with some nail art. :)

Today we're going to take a look at UberChic Beauty's most recent collection, Collection 28, so let's jump right in with the video review:

And here's a closer look:

Today we're going to take a look at the new UberChic Beauty Art Deco Elegance plate...of course I did a video review of the plate:

And here's a closer look:

UberChic Beauty Art Deco Elegance

As always, UberChic's full nail images are 1.7 x 2.1 cm, and here's a look at the smaller elements next to a ruler:

Here's a look at the swatches I did in the video:

(I swear it doesn't matter what image I stamp over what, I love everything I do with these art deco plates...sigh...)

Okay, on to the manis! For the first I wanted to use some springy colors, for a modern type of look:

Base Polish(es): Stella Chroma Goddess of the Wild (no longer available)
Stamping Plate(s): UberChic Beauty Art Deco Elegance

UberChic Beauty Art Deco Elegance over Zoya Brighton

Base Polish(es): Zoya Brighton
Stamping Plate(s): UberChic Beauty Art Deco Elegance
Stamping Polish(es): Girly Bits Little Black Dress

And for my final mani, I went all out for sexy, vampy elegance:

Zoya Winter Holos

(Press samples ahead!)

Hello!

You guys, I have had the worst luck with breaks on my nails...So. Much. Nail. Carnage. So I'm going to have to use my non-swatching hand for today's swatches, so if they look a little different, you're not losing your mind!

Okay, now that the disclaimer is out of the way, today we're gonna take a look at Zoya's Winter Holos trio, which has two new holos, and brings back and old favorite. Let's jump in!

First let's look at the oldie-but-goodie, Zoya Brighton, a nude scattered holo that's one of my favorite polishes ever:

Zoya Brighton

Zoya Brighton

Zoya Brighton

Zoya Brighton

Coverage: two coats
Formula and Application: easy, breezy, excellent
Other: relatively fast dry time

I've worn this polish so many times I've lost count, which, for a nail blogger who has to constantly be swatching, is quite a thing to say. It goes with everything, it looks expensive and chic, and it's an excellent base of nail art. This is the kind of polish you get a back-up bottle of--or maybe even two.

Next we have Zoya Cadence, a Barbie-pink scattered holo:

Zoya Cadence

Zoya Cadence

Zoya Cadence

Zoya Cadence

Coverage: two coats
Formula and Application: easy, breezy, excellent
Other: relatively fast dry time

I personally don't do a lot of pink, but when you add scattered holo to it like this, you can definitely persuade me ;-). This is a bright, fun shade, feminine and blingy.

Last we have Zoya Everly, a cherry-red scattered holo:

Zoya Everly

Zoya Everly

Zoya Everly

Zoya Everly

Coverage: I'm wearing two coats, but you'll likely be good with one
Formula and Application: easy, breezy, excellent
Other: relatively fast dry time

Oh. Yes. Now this is my kind of holo! Bright, fun, vibrant, happy, and sexy. I have zero doubt this is going to be another one of my favorites.

Of course I have to mention how great these go together for Valentine's day...this is the perfect set to get you through your season of love (okay, that didn't come out quite the way I meant it to, lolol), and is ready-made for nail art all by itself. Mix and match and accent nail your heart out with this one!

This set is on sale now directly from Zoya, or brick-and-mortars where Zoya polishes are on sale. And, right now they're running a New Year New Hue promotion where you can get any four polishes for only $15 (which is technically for the shipping--if you spend $50 in the purchase, you don't have to pay shipping). Just use code HUE19.

Big hugs,
M. xoxo
