Review: Incoco Double Take Duochrome Collection

(Press Sample)

Hello!

How do I love duochromes? Let me count the ways...as long as I can count my fingertips as they're covered with duochrome!

I squeed with delight when I opened my mail the other day and found lovely samples from Incoco's Double Take Duochrome collection--all the beauty of a duochrome along with the speed and convenience of a nail wrap? Sign me up.

When I pulled them out, they looked pretty and all, but not nearly as breath-taking as they look on the nail, because you need some curve to get the full effect. So take a look at these package shots of the collection, but to really appreciate them check out the sample mani.

Here's Enigma, which shifts from magenta purple through to a golden orange, with a lovely glitter texture:

Next is Mesmerize, which shifts from blue-purple through to a grey and green:

Then we have Hypnotize, which is the same as Mesmerize, but with a net pattern (this makes it perfect for mixing and matching with Hypnotize, nail art in a flash!):

And finally we have Opulence, which shifts from cerulean blue to purple, and has an elegant gothic pattern on it:

For today's mani, I used Mesmerize with Hypnotize for my accent nail:

I had a plan for some additional nail art, but loved that look as it was, so wore it that way for a day; then I added a little extra to the pinkie. I stamped some Latin text with MoYou London Gothic 04 (using Konad Black) and then stamped the accent with Gothic 02 (Barry M Silver Foil):

See what I mean about how gorgeous the duochrome is on those appliques?? OMG, I love, love, love this effect. And since I'm on a crazy Gothic kick right now because of the MoYou London collection, I am so excited about using these with those images.

This look took next to no time to do--the appliques go on so much faster than a regular manicure, and I only had to stamp one nail, which took less than a minute. No matter how you look at it, you can't argue with that time savings. :)

When I was surfing their site, I noticed they have a lot of new gorgeous patterns to choose from in their fall collection, as well--lots that are perfect for elegant fall and winter looks. I'm gonna have to get my hands on some of them!

Stay tuned to see what I do with the other sets...

Hugs,
M.

    1. They are definitely my favorite nail wraps, from the different ones I've tried. The easiest to apply and the longest lasting. :)

  17. these look really good! i love the colors & pattern you picked for the accent nail. i don't think i've ever tried these before. how would you compare these to jamberry?

    1. You know, I've never tried jamberry's actual nail wraps, just their polish. But I have a friend who just started selling them, so I'll let you know soon...In the meantime, I feel that Incoco are top notch. I like that they go on so well, and they last quite a while. Other nail wraps I've tried snap really easily when I'm putting them on, but the Incocos have a fair amount of stretch to them. :)

..and if only I could "like" a comment - the "we all always need a manicure" one needs more love. :D

    1. Aww, what a sweet thing to say!! Of course I don't hate you for it, more duochromes for me, muah hah haaaahhhh!!! And yeah, how come we can't like comments??!! They should start that. I tried to go over to Discus, and it wouldn't install right--maybe I need to try it again, at least that's a bit more interactive. :)
