UberChic Beauty Got Chevron 2, plus The Digit-al Dozen Stamping Week Day 1!

(Press samples and affiliate links ahead!)

Hello!

This month, The Digit-al Dozen's theme is stamping, which, since stamping is my favorite form of nail art, means I get to go a little bit nuts! I decided to use the week to move through some techniques, going from beginning to advanced, while showing you a few cool plates. :)

To start off, we're going to take a look at UberChic Beauty's Got Chevron 2 plate. Here is the video review of I did of the plate; in the video, I talk a bit about how to select images to put together if you have trouble with that:

And here's a still of the plate, which has pretty much every type of awesome chevron under the sun, especially between it and the first Got Chevron plate:

There's a ton of mix-and-match possibility just on this plate alone, but my favorite way to use chevrons is to mix them in as accents with other types of images, so I'll show you both options below. :)

All UberChic Beauty full images are 1.7 x 2.1 cm, and here's a shot with a ruler so you can judge if the little images will work for your nails:

UberChic Beauty always has top-notch quality images:

So let's jump on in to the manicures! For my first manicure, I started with a skittle of The Lady Varnishes Moon Blinked, Zoya Brighton, and Spellbound Nails Black Eye. Then I stamped my images with Messy Mansion Carbon and Sterling:

This manicure shows off one of my favorite things about UberChic Beauty plates--I love that she gives you little isolated images that you can match up with the full nail images (or use alone or whatever) so you can easily get a bunch of different looks with the same graphic.

For my second mani, I wanted to pick a chevron to mix with UberChic's new Welcome Spring plate, for an easy, sweet, spring/Easter look. I started with a base of Zoya Snow White, and then stamped my images from the two plates with Kaleidoscope st-06 Mint and st-04 Pink:

And finally, here's the mani I'm featuring for the first entry in this week's Digit-al Dozen's theme. This mani shows off what awesome results you can get with the simplest approach to stamping--one pass, one color, over a single base. I started with a base of Zoya Brighton, and then stamped my images with Messy Mansion Carbon:

I love this mani, and wanted to showcase it to you as the first mani of the Digit-al Dozen theme for several reasons. This is the perfect beginner's mani--even if you place the images not quite how you want them, nobody will ever know, because of all of the angles in this style of chevron. Also, it's a single color, and only stamps three nails--but it's an elegant graphic look. Finally, it allows the underlying specialty polish to really shine, and be as much of a star of the mani as the images themselves. So if you've thought about trying out stamping but are afraid it's too hard, don't be! Starting simple doesn't mean starting boring.

You can find UberChic Beauty's Got Chevron and Welcome Spring plates on sale now in their store. And you can follow them around the interwebs here:

I'll be back tomorrow to show you how simple playing around with color when you stamp can be...in the meantime, don't forget to check out the other stamping manis from the amazing Digit-al Dozen, below!

Big hugs,
M. xoxo

    1. Right?! I am beyond obsessed with Brighton right now. I've used it at least five times since I got it, not an easy trick for a nail blogger who doesn't normally get to give so much love to one polish!! <3
