Hello!
Today we're going to take a look at a new collection from Spellbound Nails, her Harry Potter Book 5 collection:

Like her other Harry Potter collections, this collection is a mix of different polish types, with something for everyone--flakies, holos, multichromes, a crelly, and even a glitter topper. Let's jump on in...
Let's start off with Spellbound Nails Bugged, my favorite from the collection. This is a deep olive green multichrome that shifts gently to gold and brown:

Coverage: two coats
Formula and application: Perfection
Finish: Glossy shimmer
Other: excellent dry time!
This polish is inspired by Rita Skeeter and her beetle animagus. Any collection that comes out at Christmas instantly makes me look for holiday uses, and how gorgeous is this for a Christmas green! The gold in it plays so beautifully with the green, and it's like the most perfect Christmas tree. Love, love, LOVE.
Next we have Spellbound Nails House of Black, a black holographic polish with silver holo shred and micro-shred glitters:

Coverage: two coats
Formula and application: This applied easily. The shreds stuck up a little on the first coat, but smoothed over just fine with the second coat. By the time I added topcoat, everything was perfectly smoth.
Finish: Glossy
Other: average dry time
This polish was inspired by the Black family home, and all of the glittery objects inside (with their deadly traps!), and those shards do look like something dangerous shattered, in the most beautiful way! The scatter of glitters in the holo gives the polish a little extra something, without taking it to glitter-bomb level, so you get bling without overload.
Next up is Spellbound Nails I Must Not Tell Lies, a light coffee-colored crelly with red glitters:

Coverage: two coats
Formula and application: Perfection
Finish: Glossy
Other: average dry time
This polish is inspired by the bloody words carved into Harry's flesh by the blood quill, and I think it captures the inspiration perfectly! I also love that this is a nude that gives a little holiday cheer along the way. Subtle but festive at the same time.
Next up we have Spellbound Nails Metamorphmagus, a neon pink polish with blue shimmery flecks, that glows in the dark:

Coverage: two coats
Formula and application: Perfection
Finish: Glossy flakies
Other: average dry time, and it glows in the dark! The glow showed up for me without any problem.
This one's inspired by Tonk's special abilities, and I adore it! Yes, I know, I hate pink, and I said I adore it. The flecks of iridescent blue in it give it a frosty, candy-like feel that makes me want to play candy land, or open up a treat-filled stocking. Something about this feels flirty and fun and happy.
Next we have Spellbound Nails Hem, Hem, a topper filled with two shades of pink glitters and pink micro-shreds:

Coverage: two quick coats (shown here over Metamorphmagus)
Formula and application: Easy to brush on and control the density of the glitter.
Finish: Glossy
Other: excellent dry time!
This oneis inspired by Dolores Umbridge and her love of all things pink. I have to admit, I hated Dolores Umbridge in the books--I know, who didn't--to the point where it annoys me to attribute anything pretty and sparkly to her, lol! But, it does capture her FAKE personality, and if I pretend it has nothing to do with her, I have to admit it's a beautiful glitter bomb that will make your New Year's Eve sparkly and bright.
Next we have Spellbound Nails Prophecy, a light blue multichrome that has subtle shifts of primarily purple and gray, with some green--and this also glows in the dark:

Coverage: two coats
Formula and application: Perfection
Finish: Glossy shimmer
Other: average dry time, and a strong glow in the dark
This polish is inspired by the swirly, glowing light of the prophecy spheres. I love the icy blue feel of this for winter, it makes me want to go play in the snow, and it cries out for snowflake nail art. I really, really wish it snowed where I live...but since it doesn't, I can at least wear something like this.
And finally, we have Spellbound Nails The Veil, a silver-gray holographic polish with black holog glitters and silver holo micro-shreds:

Coverage: two coats
Formula and application: Perfection
Finish: Glossy holo
Other: excellent dry time!
So what do I think of the collection? Like her previous Harry Potter collections, I think she captures the spirit and magic of the book, and has a polish for whatever mood you're in--girly, vampy, happy, subtle, sophisticated. And these are gorgeous winter looks, with enough holiday special to get you through all of your holiday events. Another great, inspired collection!
