How are you doing? The cold snap finally hit my part of the country, although it's nowhere near as cold here as it is most elsewhere--but I'm wearing fingerless gloves as I type! ;-)
Today we're going to take a very cool look at February's Talk Indie To Me box, which has a Ladies of the 80's theme:
If you don't already know, Talk Indie To Me is a collaboration box with contributions from three indie polish makers created exclusively for the box, centered around a different theme every month. As a child of the 80's, I adore anything from that decade, and couldn't wait to get my little half-frozen paws on this one! Let's take a look at the goodies...

Coverage: I got full coverage in two coats
Formula and application: This polish practically applies itself!
Maker description: "Fair Maiden chose Cher because who isn't inspired by this bad-ass music industry icon who has been a musical powerhouse for decades?! We took a thermal twist with our polish, Queen of Pop, a peachy nude when warm and a charcoal gray when cold. It's packed with fiery flakes that glow orange to green, and layered with complementing aurora pigments. Kissed with holo--because a Cher polish needs holo!"
I could not agree more--you gotta have bling with Cher! And I just have to say, I think a dark-to-nude thermal is so perfect for a polish representing Cher, because we all know Cher was not shy about making her clothes disappear...;-) This polish has sparkle and warm, fiery flash even when it's in its neutral shade. It's fun but still has class, and--I can't resist saying it--it makes me want to turn back time to the 80s!

Formula and application: Easy-peasy, no issues. Jelly-based, packed with glittery holo goodness.
Maker description: "An orange jelly with sparks of purple, pink, rainbow and gold flakies, pink-to-purple crystal chameleon flakes, and a subtle scattered holo. Inspiration: Pat Benatar
Oh, yes, you had me at orange. The jelly makes this squishy in the yummiest way, and the sparkle lights this up from within. Did you have a pair of those jelly shoes in the 80s? I did, like every other girl, and this takes me right back to them! This polish has a more of a pink shimmer to it than came through on camera in my swatches, so I included the side bottle shot so you could get a sense of it. This polish captures the glitz and glamour and bright colors of the 80s in such a 'now' sort of way. Sassy and vibrant--LOVE.

This bonus extra is inspired by Cyndi Lauper (Girls just want to have fun!) and has a scent that's a blend of juicy mandarin, bergamot and orange, enhanced with a hint of peach and berries and a hint of soft musk. And you guys, it's a ROLLER BALL! Which means this is the cutest little cuticle oil ever, perfect to pop into even your smallest purse. Formula and application: Easy-peasy, no issues. Another jelly-based polish, this one with a medium linear holo flash.
Maker description: "Zombie Claw was inspired by Madonna, Queen of Pop. My polish #blondeambition is a punk pink that has linear holo and a poppin' mix of black, white, turquoise, and pink glitters."
The smoky shade to this pink gives it an orchid lean, and I love the way the glitters dance amid the holo flash. Back in the 80's, geometric patterns were a huge thing, and the scatter of glitter here puts me right in that mood. I have no problem believing Madonna would have worn this to top off her stacks of jelly bracelets...This polish is feminine in a powerful way, and makes me smile. :)
