Before & After: Peek-a-boo!

(Polish sent for review)

Hello!

Today I have a quick mani for you that was almost a disaster, but that turned itself around!

I started with Barielle First Class Ticket, a bright sky blue creme:

Then I dabbed on a coat of Barielle Amethyst, a dusty lavender glitter:

Then I thought it'd be fun to do some stamping over the glitter so the gitter would peek out. I stamped on my middle finger with Konad white, using MoYou London Kaleidoscope 04 (you can see my full review for that plate here). The look was waaay bolder than I thought it would be, and I knew it wasn't going to look right with the same stamping over all my fingers...so I decided to leave my index finger unstamped, and stamped my ring and pinkie using Barielle First Class Ticket:

Love that peek-a-boo glitter

I absolutely love the way this came out! The more subtle blue allows the white stamping to pop in a good way, with the right amount of bam! I think this is a fun, edgy way to wear spring colors and I didn't want to take it off. :)

Do you have any of the kaleidoscope plates?

Happy Polishing,
M.

    1. You can do a similar thing with other designs--this would be beautiful with henna-type patterns! :)

  7. I'm not a huge fan of that glitter. I think they are way to big and they don't spread out super nice. But you saved it with the stamping.

    1. It was my least favorite from that collection, I admit. I'm not fond of one-note glitters, but in this case it really worked. :)

  9. Ooo great mani - I love the stamping over the glitter. I feel like these glitters are "out of fashion" but I still have a soft spot for them and great to see them used in a mani like this.

    1. Yes! They were the first glitters that came out, back in the day...so I guess that makes this a retro glitter, lol!
