Born Pretty Store Spring Garden + The Digit-al Dozen Does White!

(Press samples and affiliate links ahead!)

Hello!

Hi guys! I hope you had a great weekend. I made jam. A lot of jam. Mixed berry jam, apricot jam, plum jam. Why? Because last week we my neighbors and my inlaws were sharing the bounties of their trees--and there was A LOT. We ate as many as we could, and I made jam with the rest. And if you didn't already know--I have thoroughly learned that jam is basically fruit flavored sugar. You don't want to know how much sugar I went through.

But anyway, on to nails! Today's post is has a dual purpose--to show you Born Pretty Store's Spring Garden-L003 plate, and to do day one of The Digit-al Dozen's White theme. :)

Let's start with the plate--here's the video review I did giving my ideas for using it:

And here's a closer look:

I love the spiritual, mystical feel of this. I'm also a big fan of watercolor tattoos, and this has that feel imo.

Here's a shot with a rule to help judge how big the images are:

And here are three sample looks I did in the video:

For my first mani, I started with a base of The Lady Varnishes Nobody's That Heartless, and stamped with Hit The Bottle Polish A Rose By Any Other Name and Copper-Haired Girl (also available at Lantern & Wren). I'm annoyed at how hard it was to photograph, so I included the best macro I could, because the polish and the images are beautiful, even if my camera rebelled!

And here it is matted:

I think the images with these colors are soft and romantic. :)

My second mani is for this month's Digit-al Dozen theme--which is 'White". We had a little discussion about what that meant, and we're taking several different approaches. I decided that for me it meant manis that either used white as a base or stamped with white, or both.

For this mani, I started with a base of Sally Hansen Get Mod on two fingers, and some fluid nail art I did on the others, using Zoya Breezi, Sally Hansen Night Flight, The Lady Varnishes Here's Where The Fun Begins, and Sinful Colors Concrete Jungle. I stamped with Messy Mansion Amalfi Coast and Chalk:

Stamping with white can go horribly, horribly wrong--a little goes a long way, and the color combo can make or break you. But white and blue is such a classic combo, especially with light floral prints, and I think that's what gives this a harmonious feel. This is one of the few that I think I like just a little bit better without the matte--I think the fluid nail art shows a little more. What do you think?

You can find Born Pretty Store Spring Garden-L003 in the store here, and you can use my code, MCL91, for 10% off your full-priced order.

I'll be back tomorrow with another 'white' mani--in the meantime, check out how the other ladies interpreted this theme, below.

Big hugs,
M. xoxo

  3. Your blue and white mani is super pretty. I can well imagine how much sugar you went through, as I used to help my mum make jam x
