Today's theme in my Halloween challenge is Ghosts! Spooky supernatural paranormal ghosts!
I spent some time thinking about what I could do for ghosts and realized I didn't want to go the Casper-The-Friendly-Ghost way...I want to go the 'real' ghost way. You know, the kind of ghosts that show up in pictures and on film during shows like 'Ghost Adventures'. You know, the kind of ghosts that look like white smears on a picture...You know, the kind of ghosts you see on pictures of ghosts like these on this site:
Misshapen head ghost |
Smoky ghost |
Dancing Wraith ghosts |
So, I set out to recreate these ghost sightings in my manicure, and here's what I came up with:
Spookeh... |
Super spookeh! |
To create this look, I started with a base of Barry M Black Glitter. This didn't quite give the spooky-night backdrop I was hoping for, because it looked more plain black than I wanted for this look, so I put on Pure Ice Oh Baby! over it to give a bit of a blue sheen. Then using the saran wrap method, I created a wraith-like pattern with Sally Hansen White On over the base polish, and then using the same method, added silver highlights with Pure Ice Silver Mercedes using the same method.
What do you think? I think if you squint your eyes and have a few cocktails, it looks like the wraith of a bride who died tragically on her wedding day and has come back searching for her groom. Kind of. A little. Maybe. Well, no matter what, I think it got the look I set out to get, lol!
Thanks for looking, and please don't forget to look at the other spooky supernatural ghost manicures by the other participants, linked below. :)
