I am slowly getting back into my challenges, and today is my first contribution to Fingers Freakin' Holo Freaks' weekly challenge. Just my luck, I come in right when the color of the week is 'Yellow', because I don't own a yellow holo (I must remedy that). So I got permission to contribute a gold holo, which is pretty darn close. :)
I give you China Glaze GR8, from the old, nearly mythical, OMG collection:

I found myself in a skull kinda mood today, probably after all of that talk about the Haunted Mansion ride polishes, lol...So I pulled out some nail jewelry I was sent for review from Born Pretty Store. This set has skulls, hearts and bows, and a set of lips:

And most of them don't have any pointy edges, so you shouldn't have problems with these falling off, unless you try to wear them for too long. I'd suggest no more than a day or two if you want to remove and keep them, otherwise it gets too risky to have them pulled off; and if you keep them, you can get a ton of use out of them. I simply paint my nail with quick-drying topcoat, and set the charm on top until it dries. I do *not* put additional topcoat over the top of these.
I used the one charm in my set that didn't have a curved surface and does have pointed edges, and even so, this sucker is staying put using the topcoat method:

On the other nails, I stamped using Konad black and Bunny Nails plate HD-D. I love the contrast with the gold, and you can even see in this artificial light that the holo flash still comes through. :)

ReplyDeleteThank you thank you!
DeleteThat skull image looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Bunny Nails does good stuff. :)
DeleteLOVE this! I haven't braved charms on my nails, but those look really easy to use!
ReplyDeleteThey are, but one other tip: avoid washing hands and stuff as much as possible. :)
DeleteYeah, don't run your fingers through your hair or anybody else's. LOL
DeleteThat is probably not a bad thing to avoid, lol! The other ones have smooth edges though, so they should be okay. :)
DeleteI love it all! The color combo, the stamping & the charm work perfectly together. Me Likey!
ReplyDeleteThank you darling!
DeleteBlack & gold together are always a winning combo! :)
