Hello!!
I've been wanting to do this manicure ever since I first saw the MoYou London Kaleidoscope plates. ::does happy dance::
First, here is my video review of the plate, Kaleidoscope 06:
And here are the stills:

And here's how big the images are in comparison to Konad:

To start, I used Barielle Midnight In Paris, a deep blue shimmer with a slight purple flash (sent for review from Barielle's Jetsetter collection; you can see my review here):

I wanted to go for a kaleidoscope look, so I wanted to add a layer of light-reflecting particles without losing the full color of the basecoat; I added a layer of Orly Mirrorball, which is an amazeballs holographic topcoat with a sprinkle of tiny hex glitters--if you don't have it, I suggest going out and finding it right this instant:

Then I added a medium player of Nayll Precious, a polish I made myself (you can see my review here); it's a clear glitter with silver, copper, and gold glitters. Then, I stamped over it all with Barielle Midnight In Paris to pull back that base color:
I know this is a lot of look, but I really love it. I love the concept, and I think it really does look like an awesome kaleidoscope; I also love how these polishes came together. I definitely wouldn't wear this for an every day look, but I love this for New Year's Eve, or for going out to a fun club or glitzy party. Hope you like it too!
Hugs,
M.
Love the manicure you got with thtis plate. This new collection is the one I've been eying the most. I grew up with a Kaleidoscope toy so seeing all these designs brought back memories.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you like it! I also had a kaleidoscope as a little girl and I adored it...sigh...
DeleteStunning, this is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
DeleteOh wow!
ReplyDeleteI was just casually scrolling down... yeah yeah, blue... yeah, holo.... yeah ok... OH MY GOD! I gasped out loud and scared the cat. True story! That looks just STUNNING. You must never take it off.
ROFLMAO!! Please apologize to kitty for me, lol. :) Thank you so much! It was one of those times when the thing you have in your mind actually comes to life on your nails. <3
DeleteThis totally looks like looking through an actual kaleidoscope. Love it!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!! I was hoping it would look like that, but you know how that goes sometimes, lol!
DeleteJust like a kaleidoscope! Absolutely breathtaking.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!! You made my day. :)
DeleteSuper nice manicure! I´m thinking that i need this plate!
ReplyDeleteThank you! If you like this sort of look, I don't know of any other plate that has something like this. So much fun. :)
DeleteFantabulous! You gotta wear this much look everyday!
ReplyDeleteThat's the benefit of working for yourself/contracting...most days I can wear whatever I want!
DeleteOh holy wow! That is amazing! I love those plates but couldn't picture how to use polish so it'd look like an actual kaleidoscope. You pulled it off with flair! I think it'd be dangerous to drive in the sunshine with with nails. I'd be too busy staring at them instead of the road! Simply gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteLOL!! Yes, they are definitely shiny and sparkly and glittery! And I do admit I spent a lot of time wiggling my fingers at myself. Mr. LOLH actually made a comment about my sanity, lol!
DeleteSuch an interesting plate! And you totally nailed that kaleidoscope feel!
ReplyDeleteThank you thank you!! <3
DeleteMindblowing.
ReplyDeletestunning.. *drools*
