Monday Blues & The Neverending Pile Challenge: Cygnus Skittle

Hello!

Today again we are going to stretch the boundaries of Monday Blues with a Blurple duochrome that turns red and bronze at the edges. I give you I <3 Nail Polish Cygnus Loop, which is also the most expensive untried in my pile (today's theme in The Neverending Pile Challenge):

I've been in a skittle state of mind, so I decided to skittle this lovely, inspired by the colors she flashes:

For the index finger, I stamped using MoYou London Greek Mythology collection 02, and Sally Hansen Red-io Active. For the middle finger, I added a coat of Different Dimension Penny!!!. For the pinkie, I used red and rust and orange-copper glequins, and a light purple triangle sequin. And of course, I left the ring finger plain, so the original polish could shine on through. :)

So there you go--a sexy skittle to help you through your Monday. Hope you're having a good (or at least short) one!

Hugs,
M.

Before & After: Ruffian Turf

Hello!

Just because it's fall doesn't mean we can't have bright colors, right? At least, not here on this blog, that's for sure. :)

Finally I have a chance to swatch for you one of my long-time lemmings, which I got a while back but had to set aside to swatch the fall polishes I wanted to show you. But at long last, here is my much coveted Hare Polish Asteroid Turf, and bright magenta glitter set in a lovely lime crelly:

I wore it like this for a bit, and then...then I received a mix of circle glitters as a gift from a friend of mine, and absolutely had to use them. I started by turning the manicure into a ruffian with Zoya Keiko on top, and then added some of the glitters:

This is a fun mani that makes me happy and will brighten up the rainiest day, I think. Not that I'm having that problem here--we're in drought. Again. Grrrr...

Hugs and love to all,
M.

Before & After: Sparkling Diamonds

Hello there!

Not every vampire wants to be the center of attention; some want to go about their business and get the job done without a bunch of fuss and kerfuffle. Still others may not have time in between kills to spend on involved, complicated nail art. But that doesn't mean they don't all want a little something special as they do it all.

If your favorite undead Transylvanian is looking for a pretty, yet understated way to express themselves, I have the perfect thing for them--read on.

First, start with a base of InDecisive Nail Lacquer Sparkly Vampire (ooo, love that name!), an intense blend of sparkly red and black glitter in a luscious blood-red jelly base:

Now we're going to add some just a hint of goth gorgeousness...grab some pointy diamond-shaped loose glitter (they look just like fangs, don't they?! Totes adorb!!), and put three each of them at the base of the cuticles, for an understated, but vamp-a-licious look:

Why did the vampire break up with her boyfriend?
Turns out, he wasn't her type.

And there you have it! Simple, classic style for the simple, classic vampire. And with that I'm off...I'm having a strange craving for tomato juice all of a sudden...

Hope your Wednesday is full of bite!
