UberChic Beauty Damask & Baroque

(Press samples and affiliate links ahead!)

Hello!

Today we're gonna take a look at one of the two new plates from UberChic Beauty, their Damask & Baroque plate. As always, let's start off with my video observations about the plate:

Let's take a look at the plate:

UberChic Beauty Damask & Baroque plate

I think this is an excellent plate for all skill levels, even beginners--you can get beautiful images easily, with no fancy techniques, and without having to worry about fine lines or bold areas. If you are a beginner and want to play around with looks, I suggest playing with color--check out the swatches I did in the video above to see some examples of that.

But let's jump on into the manicures!

For my first look, I wanted to give an example of mixing and matching these images with other plates; I think a lot of these images are similar to lacy snowflakes:

Base Polish(es): The Lady Varnishes Paradise For A Day
Stamping Plate(s): UberChic Beauty Damask & Baroque
Stamping Polish(es): Girly Bits Cosmetics Ker-minty Frog Here and Forget Me? Not!!!

For the second mani I wanted to play with color, so I did a stamping-polish gradient:

Base Polish(es): Glam Polish Rocket Man
Stamping Plate(s): UberChic Beauty Damask & Baroque
Stamping Polish(es): Messy Mansion Royal Purple, Blue You Away, Hydrangea Blue, and Chalk

And for my final look I wanted to give an example of mixing the smaller elements with the larger:

Stamping Plate(s): UberChic Beauty Damask & Baroque
Stamping Polish(es): Color Alike Hot Sands, UberChic Beauty Pure Black

This plate is on sale now in the UberChic Beauty store, and I personally think it goes beautifully with the Love & Marriage 05 plate (all of the Love & Marriage plates, actually), so check that one out while you're there. :)

M. xoxo

First things first--here's the quick video I did with a few test looks:

And here's a look at the plate itself:

Hello!

It's day 2 of The Digit-al Dozen's Patterns theme, and for today's mani I played with using a layer on its own, and layering it with another image. Here's the glossy version:

PPU Alert! The Lady Varnishes Make It Rain

(Press samples and affiliate links ahead!)

Hello!

It's that time again--time for Polish Pickup! This month's theme is weather, and today I'm gonna show you The Lady Varnishes Make It Rain, a soft sage crelly with multichrome shimmer, glitters and flakies:

Coverage: 2 coats
Formula & application: Perfect!

This inspiration for this polish is money (hence 'Make It Rain'--hehehe, such a fun play on the weather theme!) and it looks like stacks of dollar bills and gold coins. It's jam-packed with beautiful, magical things, so much so that this is one of my favorite polishes so far this year.

I wanted to play up the antique-vintage feel to this, and the shimmer, so I chose some art nouveau images and a soft stamping polish:

Base Polish(es): The Lady Varnishes Make It Rain
Stamping Plate(s): Moyra Vanity
Stamping Polish(es): Messy Mansion Bisque

I am so happy with how this came out--it's so vintage and classy, I'm absolutely going to wear this combo again.

This polish goes on sale June 7th-June 10th in the Polish Pickup store; the price will be $12.50, and there will be a cap of 130, so set that alarm and grab it quick if you want it! In the meantime, you can check out Kirsten's other beauties in The Lady Varnishes' shop.

Big hugs,
M. xoxo

Lantern & Wren's #AllTheHearts Plate

(Press samples and affiliate links ahead!)

Hello!

Today I have another new plate from Lantern & Wren to show you: the Lantern & Wren #AllTheHearts plate, right in time for the run-up to Valentine's day. :)

Here's the video review I did of the plate:

And here's a closer look:

As with her other plates, she's packed in a ton of images, and gives a nice variety that run the gauntlet from cute to elegant.

Here are a trio of sample swatches:

I LOVE the way that bohemian lace image looks over that smoosh...sigh...

Okay, on to the manis! I had to use that bohemian lace image again, but this time wanted to try some non-Valentine colors:

Base Polish(es): Shine Nail Polish Mirage
Stamping Plate(s): Lantern & Wren #AllTheHearts
Stamping Polish(es): Messy Mansion Hydrangea Blue & Lilac

I chose blue stamping polish to pull out the shimmer in the base polish, and I love how it came out. :)

For my next mani, I wanted to try a cool French tip look:

Base Polish(es)Spellbound Nails I Must Not Tell Lies
Stamping Plate(s): Lantern & Wren #AllTheHearts
Stamping Polish(es)Messy Mansion Red-y Or Not

I love how simple but effective this look is. :)

And, for a final look, I wanted to use some hearts in a non-Valentine way, to show the versatility:

Base Polish(es): Spellbound Nails Prophecy
Stamping Plate(s): Lantern & Wren #AllTheHearts
Stamping Polish(es): Messy Mansion Lilac

I think this is an adorable manicure for spring!

This plate is on sale now in Lantern & Wren's store. And, you can follow Lantern & Wren around the interwebs, here:

It Girl Nail Art Limited Edition Mythology Plate

(Press samples and affiliate links ahead!)

Hello!

If you haven't already heard, this month's Polish Pickup theme is Mythology, and It Girl Nail Art is contributing a limited edition plate celebrating the theme:

It Girl Nail Art LE107

She did a mix of several types of mythology and mythical creatures, and I gotta say--the mighty jackalope is definitely my favorite. (You gotta love jackalopes, because that's where naugahyde comes from, and where would we be without naugahyde?)

I had a blast playing around with this, so I have several manis to show you...this first one started with a base of Zoya Rekha, then I stamped an image from It Girl Nail Art IG102, and then added in my images from LE107, using Messy Mansion Carbon and Soft Gold:

It Girl Nail Art LE107 and IG102 over Zoya Rekha

It Girl Nail Art LE107 and IG102 over Zoya Rekha

Next up I went for some Greek mythology...I started with a base of Stella Chroma Cinnamon & Spice, and then stamped an image from It Girl Nail Art IG105 with Girly Bits Irreplaceable, and then stamped my LE107 images with Messy Mansion Spring Green, Carbon, and Soft Gold:

It Girl Nail Art LE107 and IG105 over Zoya Rekha

Next I took a trip under da sea with a base of Stella Chroma Flannel & Boots, and stamped an image from IG111 with Messy Mansion Chalk. Then I reversed-stamped my images from LE107, using Stella Chroma Sugarplum Fairy and It Girl Nail Art Inkwell for the narwhal, and Messy Mansion Spring Green for Nessie:

It Girl Nail Art LE107 and IG111 over Zoya Rekha

And I saved the best for last...I started with a base of Shine Nail Polish Upper Crust, then stamped an image from IG111 and Girly Bits Irreplaceable to look like a terrain map, then reversed-stamped my jackalope using Girly Bits White Wedding and Little Black Dress:

It Girl Nail Art LE107 and IG111 over Zoya Rekha

I hope this gives you an idea of the fun stuff you can do with this plate...It will be on sale during January's Polish Pickup, from January 4th-January 7th. In the meantime, check out It Girl Nail Art's other awesome plates here, and check out their cuticle balm while you're there (it's my favorite).
