(Press samples and affiliate links ahead!)

Hello!

...And, here's another NOTD to start the New Year off right!

For this mani, I started off with a base of Zoya Bay and Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Goin' Way Down South, then stamped an image from UberChic Beauty 17-03 with Moonflower Polish Moonflower:

Review: Lina Nail Art Supplies 4 Seasons-Winter 01 plate (with sample manis!)

(Press samples and affiliate links ahead!)

Hello!

Today I have another plate from Lina Nail Art Supplies to show you! This time it's their 4 Seasons-Winter 01 plate. Here's the video review I made:

And let's take a closer look:

Lina Nail Art Supplies 4 Seasons - Winter 01

I love that these plates are scaled to make super-easy combinations, and there are so many images that go well together in so many combinations. I'm really into pine-tree manis this year, so the deer and the trees and pine cones and fronds all call out to me. And, here are plenty of smaller images to mix-and-match.

The full-nail images are 1.7 cm x 2.2 cm, and here's a look in inches:

And the stamping quality is excellent:

During my recent polish reviews, I did some accent nails with this plate, in case you missed them:

For today's sample mani, I wanted to go for something a little different than tranditional Christmas colors, instead, I did a more general holiday-elegance sort of mani. I started with a base of polishes from Zoya's Enchanted holiday 2016 collection, because I am loving how well these go together--I chose Waverly, Saint, and Alice:

Then I stamped my index and my pinkie with Hit The Bottle Polish Aubergine and Amethyst Sizzle  (also available at Beautometry; stay tuned for my review):

I love the dark and the light blues and purples contrasted with the delicate print. This is a mani I'd wear throughout the year, but I love it for the holiday, the way it throws light and shimmer just feels posh and celebratory.

You can find this plate and many others in Lina Nail Art Supplies' shop; here's all their deets:

Review: UberChic Beauty Mermaid Life (with sample mani featuring Zoya Levi and Julep Adele)

(Press samples and affiliate links ahead!)

Hello!

Do you wish you were a mermaid? My personal wish list goes like this: Queen, Magical Superhero, Mermaid. But honestly, any one of the above is juuuust fine.

If you're a wannabe mermaid, UberChic Beauty has made the perfect plate for you, their Mermaid Life plate. Of course I did a review discussing the images for you:

(And if you prefer your reviews a little more on the fast side, check out my super-quick version, here.)

Let's take a look at the plate:

There's a mermaid here for every mood: sexy, cute, whimsical, straight hair, curly hair, up close, full-body. But, there's also plenty of fun images to build pirate manicures and ocean manicures--and can I just say how in love I am with the full-nail scallop shell images at the bottom? Stayed tuned for a mani I'e done with that.

How about size? This'll give you an idea of the size of the images:

And how do they stamp?

Top-notch quality, as always. :)

For my sample mani, I used Zoya Levi on three nails, and Julep Adele on the other two. Then I stamped a variety of scallop shell images from the plate with Messy Mansion Chalk:

What do you think? I think this came out sparkly, but not over the top, and with an elegant edge. We won't talk about the fact that I messed up the side of the thumb a little...ahem.

You can find this plate in UberChic Beauty's store, and don't forget to follow them on Instagram and Facebook for inspiration and news updates. :)

Happy stamping!

Review: Zoya Enchanted 2016 Holiday collection!

(Press samples and affiliate links ahead!)

Hello!

In a few short days we'll be moving from the Halloween season into the full-on holiday season, filled with gatherings of friends and family, holiday parties and hectic holiday shopping.

And you know you want your nails to look good through all of it.

And in my opinion, there no easier way than with Zoya's Enchanted Holiday 2016 collection, filled with PixieDust polishes and multichromes:

Zoya Enchanted Holiday 2016 Collection
Zoya Enchanted Holiday 2016 Collection

Let's jump in with Zoya Alice, a periwinkle blue filled with the glittery texture you've come to love from a PixieDust:

This is two coats, with no base coat or topcoat. Formula was excellent, and as with most Pixies, the application is about as easy and fool-proof as you can get. This reminds me of hydrangeas, or a winter sky when the sun is just starting to go down and there's a storm coming in. The color of the sparkles are hard to see in this, but they're little points of pink and blue.

Next is Zoya Elphie, the perfect deep emerald green Pixie:

This is two coats, no base or topcoat. Formula and application were both excellent. This polish is the Emerald City, it's a deep winter forest, it's Christmas trees sparkling with dew. Gorgeous.

Next up is Zoya Lorna, a rich sugared-plum Pixie:

This is two coats with no base coat or topcoat, again with excellent formula and application. If the Sugar Plum Fairy wears nail polish, this is it. It's blackberry pie or plum pudding on a candle-lit holiday table. Okay, now I'm hungry.

Next we have the first of two multichromes in the collection: Zoya Olivera. This beauty is an inky-blue base that shifts purple and green:

This is two coats with topcoat. Formula and application were both excellent. This polish is a magical winter night sky that shifts through an almost foil-like emerald green shimmer and goes to royal purple around the edges. It's vampy, but with color that maintains a jewel-like quality. Just beautiful.

Zoya Saint is the other multichrome in the collection, and is almost the opposite of Olivera, with a soft periwinkle-leanin blue base and a light magenta flash:

This is two coats with topcoat, excellent formula and application. This has an icy quality that makes me want to build a snowman or go ice skating, and a magical aspect that makes me think of fairies and dragonflies. Soft and sweet.

And finally, we have Zoya Waverly, a midnight sapphire blue Pixie:

Zoya Waverly

This is two coats with no basecoat or topcoat, however, I recommend you wear a base coat with this one, although you normally can get away without one when you wear textured polishes--this one will stain if you don't put a base coat under it. Ah, dark blue, why are you so inky?

Something about this polish makes me think of velvet. It also makes me think of a star-filled night sky during a cold winter night, the kind where the chill takes your breath away. Stunning.

So what do I think of the collection overall? I love jewel-toned colors, and this hits those notes hard. I also think the holidays are a time for glitz and glamour, and there's enough magic sprinkled into this collection to keep every nail fanatic happy. And I love the ease of the PixieDust polishes--they apply easy, dry quickly, and since you don't need a base or topcoat with most of them, they're just about the fastest way to get a gorgeous manicure, something we can all get behind during our hectic holiday schedules. Without a doubt, this is an A+ collection.

You can find the Enchanted collection now on Zoya's website; you can also find it on Amazon if that's easier for you. And don't forget to follow Zoya on Facebook and Instagram for inspiration and news!

Happy polishing,
M.

Review: It Girl Nail Art fashion plate IG111

(Press samples and affiliate links ahead!)

Hello!

Today we're gonna take a look at one of the new plates from It Girl Nail Art, plate IG111. Of course I did a video about it, which also takes a look at their new line of stamping polishes (I'll be doing a separate post about that):

Let's take a closer look at the plate:

How does it stamp? Beautifully--here's the test I did with one of their new stamping polishes, Ruby:

For my manicure, I wanted to use the image that looks like an elevation map, so I thought it would be cool to create a background that looked like terrain. I started with a base of Zoya Levi, a textured gold polish from their Summer Seashells collection. Then I smooshed on some Zoya Cece from the same collection. I stamped the image with Messy Mansion Carbon, and then I finished off with  a few bikes here and there, stamped with the same polish. Here's how it turned out:

What do you think? I love the way the background came out, I think I did manage to capture a terrain sort of feel. This makes me want to get out and go for a bike ride in these last weeks of summer!

You can find this plate and the Ruby stamping polish in the It Girl Nail Art store; you can also follow It Girl Nail Art on Instagram and Facebook for updates and inspiration.

Happy stamping!
