Today's manicure started out with Zoya Lotus, one of the beautiful Zoya polishes I got during their Earth Day sale. I did something I don't normally do...I designed my manicure around what I hoped to wear the next day. I challenged myself to make a design inspired by the design on the shirt. So on day one, I wore Lotus by herself, which is beautiful enough on its own:
Indirect sunlight
Then, that night, I decorated my manicure with a design inspired by the shirt I would be wearing the next day. Here's the shirt:
And here is the design I came up with:
I put the main design on the accent fingers; I stamped using Sally Hansen Insta-dry in Silver Sweep, using Shany plate SH11. I stamped the design twice, on the top and bottom of the nail. I used a dotting tool to put a ring of China Glaze's White Cap around the center of the two flowers, and I put a sequin in the center of that. Then I used the dotting tool to put small clusters of dots on the negative space of the nail using first Ulta's La-vish, and then one dot of White Cap on top of that. Then, on the other nails, I stamped a similar smaller flower from SH18 on one corner of each of the other nails. I finished up with a coat of Seche Vite all over everything.
So, what do you think of my first 'inspired' manicure? How'd I do?
Thanks for looking,
M.
Lovely! Gorgeous color and I like your interpretation of the pattern.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm thinking of starting an 'inspiration' series where I try to do nails based on pretty patterns that inspire me, 'cause this one was so much fun. I was thinking of doing not just clothes, but nail strips, art, whatever strikes me...:)
DeleteI love this color... gorgeous shade of purple! The nail art sets it off perfectly. I love this mani!
