Hello!
Today's manicure is another one I did for a group challenge; the theme was to use blue, green and aqua in the same manicure. I've been wanting to do a colorblocking manicure for a while now, since it has been such a trend in fashion lately, and this seemed to be the perfect time. Here is what I came up with:
I started with China Glaze's Exotic Encounters as my base, and then I blocked off a diagonal half to paint with China Glaze's Man Hunt. When that was dry, I blocked of half of my original color, and painted that with Sally Hansen Insta-dry's Lickety-Split Lime. I then lined the blocks with aqua colored nail tape. I'm still trying to get the hang of nail tape...I don't seem to get the ends to stay down for more than a couple of hours...But I did just get a few tips so I'll try them and report back. :)
Thanks for stopping by,
M.
Funky!

DeleteI have been struggelig with lifting tape as well. I will be looking forward to hear your solution.
ReplyDeleteOkay, so here's what I've been told, and it seems to work, although I need to test it more. Cut the tape off a little short of where you want it to be, in terms of the end of the nail or the cuticle edge. You will feel like this will be noticeable, but it won't be. Attach the end like you would a rhinestone--put a little dot of topcoat under it to help hold it down. Then finish with two coats of thick topcoat like seche vite, making sure to cover the ends of the tape well. This kept the tape on for two days for me rather than 2 hours; I don't know if it would have lasted longer, because I had to remove the mani. HTH! :)
