Dixie Plates Travel 01 plate

(Press samples and affiliate links ahead!)

Hello!

Today we're going to take a look at Dixie Plates' Travel 01 plate, perfect if you're planning on traveling to Europe either for reals or in your dreams. :) Here's the video review I did for the plate:

And here's a closer look:

Dixie Plates Travel 01

My favorite parts of this plate are the passport stamps (instant vintage!) and the cityscape collages for each city. I also think the planes with the flight trails are instant dimension for any mani.

Here are a couple of ideas for using the plate:

For my first manicure, I started with a base of Zoya Clementine, and then put on a coat of The Lady Varnishes Wicked Wish. Then I stamped with Kaleidoscope White:

And here it is matted:

For my second mani, I started with a base of Zoya Jack, then stamped my images with Sally Hansen Taupe To Go and Kaleidoscope Black:

And here it is matted:

I think I prefer the first mani glossy, and the second mani matted. What about you?

You can find this plate in Dixie Plates' shop, or is you live in the US or Canada, from Lantern & Wren. And here's where you can follow Dixie Plates around the web:

Dixie Plates Summer 02 plate + The Digit-al Dozen "In My Garden" = Cocktail Time and More!

(Press samples and affiliate links ahead!)

Hello!

Today is the last day of The Digit-al Dozen's "In My Garden" theme, and since I spent the other four days showing you thinks that exist in my garden, I figured today I'd show you something I do my garden.

To do that, I'm going to use Dixie Plates Summer 02 plate, and since I haven't shown that to you yet, let's take a look at it. Here's the video review I did of the plate:

And here's a closer look at it:

Lots of summer fun to be had! Dixie Plates' full nail images are 2.1 x 2.5 cm, and here's a shot with a ruler so you can judge the smaller images:

Here are three sample looks I did to test the plate:

For my first mani, I started with a base of Zoya Breezi, and did some reversed stamping with Messy Mansion Sterling, Banana Bender, and Holly:

Dixie Plates Summer 02 over Zoya Breezi

Every time I look at this manicure it makes me think of a song my grandmother used to sing me when I was really little, about three little fishies and a momma fishy, too...they swam and they swam right over the dam!

For my second manicure, I started with Zoya Brighton, and then stamped with Messy Mansion Bisque and Summer Heat, then added some dots with Jingle Bells:

Dixie Plates Summer 02 over Zoya Brighton

Dixie Plates Summer 02 over Zoya Brighton

I must admit, I love this one shiny, but I really love it matted:

Okay! Now on to the one I did for The Digit-al Dozen! One of the things I love to do in my backyard is go out there and sit with hubby and enjoy the garden over a nice drink of some sort--he usually goes for wine or beer and I usually go for lemonade or iced tea. So I did a matted version of my cocktails design to celebrate those relaxing moments. For this mani I started with a gradient of Zoya Sandy, Karen, and Sally Hansen Orange Impulse, then I stamped with Kaleidoscope Black and Moyra Silver:

So that sums up my garden! You can buy this plate either directly from Dixie Plates, or if you're in the US and Canada, from Lantern & Wren. And don't forget to follow Dixie Plates around the interwebs.

The Digit-al Dozen "In My Garden" Day 4: Birds!

(Press samples and affiliate links ahead!)

Hello!

We have two nests of sparrows that come raise a family every spring and summer in our garden, as well as a pair of doves that used to have two babies each year--until we got a big ol' dog that made them feel unsafe. Luckily the sparrows nest up high, so I get to enjoy them as they splash in the birdbath and dig through the bird feed we leave for them.

In their honor, today's mani features birdies! I started with a base of Sally Hansen Get Mod, then I sponged Zoya Delia over it, using this nail art tool from Beauty Big Bang (my code is MISHKA824M if you need one!). Then I stamped some Chevrons with UberChic Beauty's Got Chevron 2 plate and Messy Mansion Spring Green. Finally I added my reversed stamping, which I did with UberChic Beauty's Woodland Chic plate, filled with Messy Mansion Amalfi Coast:

I know what you're saying. Sparrows aren't blue--and you're right. But blue just looked so cute with the green and purple, I had to do it!

You might also be wondering what happened to my thumb. Well, since I only have one more mani in the theme after this, I took this opportunity to use my thumb to tell you a little something extra about my garden--and that's how I feel about garden gnomes:

UberChic Beauty Woodland Chic and Got Chevron 2 over Sally Hansen Get Mod

Yes, I know, many people love them, but they creep me out! That little Travelocity dude did not help the situation.

Here's the manicure matted with Sally Hansen Big Matte topcoat:

I think the matte version is especially cute! What do you think?

I'll be back tomorrow with my final garden mani--in the meantime, check out the other ladies' manicures, linked below.

The Digit-al Dozen Day 3: Dragonflies!

(Press samples and affiliate links ahead!)

Hello!

I'm back for day three of The Digit-al Dozen's 'In My Garden' theme...One of the reasons I plant flowers is to attract dragonflies, since I totally adore them.

So for today's manicure, I started with a base of Zoya Wyatt, then applied some BeautyBigBang chameleon flakies. Then I stamped using UberChic Beauty's 26-01. I stamped with Messy Mansion Lilac and reversed stamped with Messy Mansion Carbon and Sterling. Here's the result:

And here it is matted:

Which do you like best? I think I have to go for the matted version this time. :)

The Digit-al Dozen Does Gardens: My Herbs

(Press samples and affiliate links ahead!)

Hello!

Today is day two of The Digit-al Dozen's 'In My Garden' theme, and today's manicure celebrates something I really love about my garden: growing herbs!

For today's mani, I started with a base of The Lady Varnishes Destiny. First I stamped some texture with MoYou London's Ginger Rust stamping polish and UberChic Beauty's Texturelicious 2 plate. Then I stamped my herbs with UberChic Beauty's Garden Love & Woodland Chic plates, using Messy Mansion Ivy, Forest, and Spring Green:

And here it is matted with Sally Hansen's Big Matte topcoat:

What do you think? I like the matte, but I think I prefer the glossy this time. Do you grow herbs, inside or out?

(Press samples and affiliate links ahead!)

Hello!

I hope you had a good weekend--I went on a writing retreat with several friends, up to the trees in the hills to sit in the sunshine and write. Very relaxing!

Today we're gonna take a look at UberChic Beauty's most recent collection, Collection 26. Here's the video review I did of the collection:

And here's a closer look:

Here are some sample looks I put together while testing out the plates in my video:

UberChic Beauty collection 26

Although I'll be back with more looks using this set, today I'm going to show you two manicures that fit with this month's Digit-al Dozen theme, "In My Garden." We have several types of flowers in my garden, including my favorite, roses, and my husband's favorite, gerbera daisies. So here are two manis to represent those.

For the first, I started with a base of Zoya Saldana, then stamped the negative-space rose image with Messy Mansion Sterling, then the outlined rose images with Messy Mansion Royal Purple:

UberChic Beauty 26-03 over Zoya Saldana

And I had to see how it would look matted (I prefer Sally Hansen Big Matte topcoat):

For my second look, I started with a base of Moonflower Polish Lemon, and Zoya Snow White and Wyatt. Then I stamped with Messy Mansion Banana Bender, Chalk, and Spring Green:

And here it is matted:

What do you think? Do you like one better than the other?

You can find this collection on sale now in UberChic Beauty's store, and you can stalk them around the interwebs here:

I'll be back tomorrow to share a little more of my garden with you; in the meantime, please check out the other ladies' offerings below. :)

UberChic Beauty Bottoms Up!

(Press samples and affiliate links ahead!)

Hello!

So, I started watching World of Dance, and from there started watching America's Got Talent. I am completely addicted and am YouTubing past seasons. Totally a guilty pleasure, and I'm reveling in it. :)

Today we're gonna take a look at UberChic Beauty's Bottoms Up plate...Of course I did a video review of the plate for you discussing my ideas for using it:

And here's a closer look:

UberChic Beauty Bottoms Up

UberChic's full nail images are 1.7 x 2.1 cm, and here are two shots with a rulers so you can judge the size of the other images:

I did three test looks in the video, here are swatches of them:

For my first manicure, I wanted to do a tea manicure, and went for a vintage look. I started with a base of The Lady Varnishes Nobody's That Heartless, and stamped it with Hit The Bottle Polish's Everyday I'm Truffling, Moonshine, and A Rose By Any Other Name (also available at Lantern & Wren):

For my second look, I stayed a little truer to my heart, and celebrated coffee! I started with a base of Spellbound Nails Marauder's Map, then stamped with Messy Mansion Pudding, Carbon, and Chalk:

Finally, I had to do something fun with the ice cubes image...I love sparkling water, so I thought I'd do a naked nail mani with it...I stamped my images with Kaleidoscope White, then put on a coat of Spellbound Nails Comet. Then I added BeautyBigBang Chameleon Flakes, and then stamped a second time:

I made a tutorial showing how I created this one:

So what do you think, do you love coffee, tea, or just plain water--or is there another beverage you adore?

You can find the chameleon flakies (J2443-1A) in BeautyBigBang's store, and don't forget to use my code, MISHKA824M, for 10% off your order.

You can find the plate in UberChic Beauty's store, and don't forget to follow them around the interwebs:
