NOTD: It's Another Tequila Sunrise...

Hello!!

Today's challenge in PCF is cocktails!

Aruba, Jamaica, ooo I wanna take ya...

Wait, cocktailS, not Cocktail. My bad.

I was torn regarding what sort of cocktail I wanted to do a take on, and almost went with margarita. But at the end of searching through pretty drinks, I decided to try my hand at a Tequila Sunrise. They look like this, if you've never had one:

I love the colors in this drink, and set out to recreate it. First, I started with a base coat of Zoya's Arizona, a lovely, bright, all-purpose orange. Second, I decided to create some ice cubes...so I put some yellow hex glitters on the tips of the nails. Then, I sponged over them and created a gradient, keeping Arizona as the top color, using Misa's Um...You're Too Delicious as the middle color, and China Glaze's Foxy as the bottom color. Finally, I stamped a little lemon wedge on each using Sally Hansen Lightning, and Cheeky plate CH20. Here is the final result:

Every night when the sun goes down...

Just another lonely boy in town...

And she's out runnin' around...
So there you have it, my Tequila Sunrise, a downright pretty cocktail and a downright pretty song. :)

Thanks for stopping by to look, and please check out the other cocktail manis made by the talented bloggers in our group!

NOTD: China Glaze Surfin' For Boys + Drikk Plate Drk-A (or, Beach Towel Bingo)

Hello!

Today's manicure started out with one of my picks from the China Glaze Summer Neons collection, Surfin' For Boys. This is a pretty orange that is very summery, very glowy, and very happy:

After wearing this for a day, it was time to decorate it, and I decided it was the perfect base color for a challenge I had coming up, 'Beach Towels'. To my mind, beach towels are always bright, happy and fun, with bold shape and color combinations. So, here is what I did to it:

I stamped over the base color with Sally Hansen Insta-Dry Lightning using Drikk plate Drk-A, then put dots of Lickety-Split Lime and Brisk Blue in the center of the flowers. This was nice, but it felt like it needed something more to me...so I put one purple hex sequin in the center of a big flower on each nail. Now it looks like something I'd be happy to lay on out in the sun and sand. :)

Thanks for checking it out! Please also check out the other beach-towel manicures linked below. :)
