The Digit-al Dozen Mythical Creatures Day 4: The Kracken!

(Press samples and affiliate links ahead!)

Hello!

Today is day 4 of The Digit-al Dozen's Mythical Creatures theme, and I decided it was time to switch from pretty, happy stuff to deep, dark, scary stuff! That's right: here there be monsters!

For my kracken manicure, I started with a base of Orly Pretty-Ugly. I used images from Messy Mansion MM37, Bundle Monster BM-401, Winstonia W217, UberChic Beauty's Nautical mini, and Marianne Nails n 20. I stamped with Messy Mansion Red-y Or Not,  Pudding, Chalk, and Hydrangea Blue:

I think this is my favorite of the week--I love the way it looks like the Kracken is attacking from under the sea, throwing up all those wild tentacles!

What do you prefer for the theme--happy and pretty, or dark and dangerous?

Big hugs,
M. xoxo

"My Home" mani #5: High Five!

(Press samples and affiliate links ahead!)

Hello!

Today's my final mani in the "My Home" Digit-al Dozen theme for this month! So far I've shown you a little bit about how my house is decorated, and I introduced you to my cabal of wee beasties. Today's manicure features the intersection of the two...

This mani may take a little explaining...so let's take a look at this shot, first:

Bunny Nails HD-F, UberChic Beauty Holiday Jingle, over Spellbound Nails Beauxbatons

This mani features a shot of my Christmas tree on its side, lying on the floor. The lights strings have been yanked off the top, and the ornaments are rolling all over the floor. I wonder how that happened...Maybe the thumb shot will reveal more:

Bunny Nails HD-F, UberChic Beauty Holiday Jingle, and Marianne Nails N. 20 over Spellbound Nails Beauxbatons

Oh no! Two of my little destruct-o-trons are high-fiving amid the chaos!! Darn you, kittieeeees!!

To make the For this mani, I started with Spellbound Nails' Beauxbatons, and then stamped repeatedly with the pine sprig image from Bunny Nails HD-F, with Messy Mansion Forest. Then I stamped the lights and the ornaments with UberChic Beauty's Holiday Jingle plate, with Messy Mansion Red-y Or Not, Misty Jade, and Sterling. Then I colored in the lights with Spellbound Nails Rockets' Red Glare and Twilight's Last Gleaming. I stamped the cats with Marianne nails N. 20, and Messy Mansion Carbon.

What do you think? Do you have pets, and do they like to contribute their own special touch to your holiday decorating?

Happy stamping, and don't forget to check out the other ladies' manis, linked below.

"My Home" mani #2: Four Cats and a Dog

(Press samples and affiliate links ahead!)

Hello!

Today's the second mani in the "My Home" Digit-al Dozen theme for this month, and today we're going to take a look at the little beasties that live in my home--because, let's face it, it's really their house, and I'm just livin' in it. If you don't already know, I have a dog and four cats, and it's quite a menagerie...

For my mani, I started with a base of Spellbound Nails' Rockets' Red Glare, because almost every room in my house has some red element in it--curtains, or a wall, or a bedspread, you get the idea. I love red.

Then I used Marianne Nails N. 20 to stamp images my doggie--she's a white-and-tan pitbrador (pit bull/labrador mix)--and my cats (three black and one silver). I surrounded the dog with the cats, and I stamped 'cat' behind the cats, but put question marks behind the dog, because that's a pretty accurate representation of how the power is distributed--she may weigh more than all of the cats together, but they own her. Like legit, full on pwnage.

I stamped with Sally Hansen Sand Storm, and Messy Mansion Carbon and Chalk:

What do you think? Are you a dog person, a cat person, or do you reject the binary like I do? ;-)

Stay tuned tomorrow for another look into my home life...and in the meantime, check out the other ladies' manis, linked below.

Happy stamping!

And here's a closer look:

Marianne Nails' full-nail images are 1.5 cm x 2.1 cm. And the quality is excellent:

I did these swatches with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Plummet, and my clear stamper.

For my manicures, I wanted to do winter florals...so first manicure, I started with a base of Zoya Fallon, and I double-stamped with Messy Mansion Sterling and Hit The Bottle Polish My Suitor Wears Pewter (also available at Beautometry):

For my second manicure, I started with a base of Nicole Diary My Dance 009, and stamped with Messy Mansion Carbon; I chose an image that would let the beautiful holo shine through:

Marianne Nails N. 19

What I love about this plate: I adore the dress made of butterflies and the butterfly shoe! And I love all the textile images. :)

Size wise, Marianne's full nail images are 1.5 cm x 2.1 cm. And here's a look at a shot with a ruler so you can get a sense of how small the images at the bottom are:

How about quality? These swatches were done with Sally Hansen Plummet and my clear stamper:

Excellent quality!

For my first manicure, I started with a base of Morgan Taylor Drawing A Blanco, and stamped with Messy Mansion Sterling and Soft Gold:

Today we're going to take a look at another Marianne Nails plate, this time N. 25, with a fall theme. Here's the video review I did of the plate:

And here's a closer look:

Marianne Nails N. 25

I love all the fall options on this plate, but also love how many images will work well for other seasons, too--very versatile!

Marianne Nail's full-nail images are 1.5 cm x 2.1 cm, and here's a look with my handy-dandy ruler so you can judge the size of the smaller stuff at the bottom:

How about quality? These swatches are done with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Plummet and my clear stamper:

Gorgeous quality. :)

For my first manicure, I started with a base of Zoya McKenna, then put dots of Hit The Bottle Polish Everyday I'm Truffling, Copper-Haired Girl, Drop Red Gorgeous, and It Mossed Be Love (also available at Beautometry) onto my images. Here's how it turned out:

Marianne Nails N. 20!

(Press samples and affiliate links ahead!)

Hello!

Today we're going to look at Marianne Nails N. 20, which is a pet lovers' plate. Here's the video review I did of the plate:

And here's a closer look:

Marianne Nails N. 20

The full nail images are 1.5 cm x 2.1 cm, and here's a shot with a ruler so you can judge size of the smaller elements:

I love that this plate has both cat and dog images, because I have both cats and dogs, and I know I'm not the only one! And I adore how well these images mix and match.

How about the quality? I tested out fine-line images, bold-area images, and mixed images, all with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Plummet, and my clear stamper:

Very nice!

For my first manicure, I wanted to create the look of eyes staring out from the dark night. I started with a base of Nicole Diary My Dance 14, and reversed stamped my images with Messy Mansion Soft Gold and Hit The Bottle Polish Lucky Spark (also available at Beautometry):
