Hello!
Today we're going to take a look at Messy Mansion MM82XL, one of the new Christmas plates Messy Mansion put out this year. Here's the video review I did of the plate:
Let's take a closer look:
Messy Mansion MM82XL |
I love the scribble words and the whimsical ornaments--so easy to turn into a gorgeous decal or just stamp as is. The snowflakes have a strong linear design that make them easy to add to any nail. Those first four images would make a great skittle mani--for that matter, add in thte dancing deer, the Santa Clauses, or the wreaths, too. I love the snowflake-like pattern in the diamonds, and I love that the sweater patterns are a little different from those you see on other plates. In fact, this plate is one of my favorite Christmas plates I've seen this year.
How about the size? The images are generous for larger nails:
So how does it stamp? Let's see:
I found that the super fine lines in the script image worked best with my clear stamper if I used a very gentle scrape and left plenty of polish on the plate--any scrape worked well with my regular non-clear stampers. I've found clear stampers can be a little fussy about fine lines!
For my sample manicure, I started with a base of Zoya Wyatt, and then a coat of Jindie Nails Just Elfing Around, which remains one of my favorite Christmas glitter toppers. It's not available any longer, but you can get the effect with any red/gold/green/white glitter topper. I stamped the ornament image with Messy Mansion Chalk, and made a decal with Red-y Or Not and Spring Green. and I stamped the script in Chalk. Here's how it came out:

I was/am so in love with this manicure that I delayed taking it off as long as I could. I love the combination of the colors, especially how the forest-y green and the white play with each other. I will definitely repeat this in the future!
You can find this plate and all of the stamping polishes I used in the Messy Mansion shop, and don't forget to follow them on Facebook and Instagram for news and inspiration!
Happy stamping,
M.
