Hello!

I hope your spring is off to a wonderful start in our current crazy times...Going outside (safely and briefly!) and watching beauty transform the earth has been really cleansing for me right now. And in line with that, I've done a couple of bright, fun spring manis to share with you...

First up, a celebration of cherry blossoms, which always make me so happy:

PPU Alert: Stella Chroma Turtle-y Tubular

(Press samples and affiliate links ahead!)

Hello!

This month's Polish Pickup theme is Aquatic Wonder, and Stella Chroma's contribution this month is based on a pet I always wanted to have--the turtle! Okay, I guess I actually wanted a tortoise, 'cause they're the ones that are on land, right? I can't ever keep those straight...Anyway, let's take a look:

Stella Chroma Turtle-y Tubular

Coverage: I'm wearing 2 coats
Formula and application: Easy, breezy, beautiful
Description: This polish was inspired by the Honu of Hawaii, floating in the crystal blue waters of the North Shore. It's a sandy nude glitter crelly with sapphire blue and emerald green holographic glitter, with a few matte turquoise glitters thrown in, and a little bright green shimmer for good measure!

This polish looks like a beautiful day at the beach to me, like foamy waves washing back out to the sea, in that moment when the blue and the green dance on the sand...Since I can't go to the beach anytime soon, this polish is going to get me through until I can. I have a feeling you'll be seeing it reappear on the blog with some beach nail art...

Stella Chroma also has a sugar scrub as part of the sale this month, called Cool Reef:

I don't know about you, but I'm washing my hands about a hundred times a day right now, and when I finish off the end of the day with a little of this, it leaves my skin soft and hydrated rather than dry and cracked. I love the minty-eucalyptus scent to this (I love hanging out in eucalyptus groves), and the hit of citrus makes it bright and happy.

On to the nail art! First, something a little fancy:

Base Polish(es): Stella Chroma Turtle-y Tubular
Stamping Plate(s): Hit The Bottle Polish To Love or not to Love
Stamping Polish(es): Hit The Bottle Polish Everyday I'm Truffling

I wanted to play up the beige base of this, so I accented it with a brown. And I love these two patterns together--they have sort of a Victorian wrought-iron fence look to me.

For my next one I went light and fun to play up the beach look:

Base Polish(es): Stella Chroma Turtle-y Tubular
Stamping Plate(s): Creative Shop 93
Stamping Polish(es): It Girl Nail Art Sapphire

This one is obviously meant to look like clouds, but when I look down at my nails, the curves also look like waves washing over the beach.

Both Turtle-y Tubular and Cool Reef will be on sale during April's Polish Pickup, from April 3rd through 6th. It'll sell for $12 for a 15mL bottle, with no cap. In the meantime, check out Stella Chroma's other beauties, here. :)

Stay safe and healthy,
M. xoxo

Happy St. Patrick's Day, 2020 Style...

(Press samples and affiliate links ahead!)

Hello!

Well. Yeah.

I don't know how your St. Patrick's Day is going, but mine is definitely more home-centered than I thought it would be! But, the beauty of nail art is, the spirit of the day can live with you no matter where you find yourself. So, here's a little bit of elegant St. Patrick's day art--and here's hoping the luck of the Irish is will us all over the next few weeks!

Stamping Plate(s): Hit The Bottle To Love Or Not To Love
Stamping Polish(es): Hit The Bottle Polish Taupe-lessly Devoted

This isn't your normal St. Patrick's Day mani, but I love it! Flirty, vintage, and sophisticated, it'll still keep you from getting pinched. You know, if you happen to find yourself close enough to another person that that could actually happen...>.>

Big hugs and please stay safe and healthy!

PPU Alert! The Lady Varnishes The Only Constant is Change

(Press samples ahead!)

Hello!

It's that time of month again, time to pore over the PPU offerings and fall asleep dreaming about your wishlist! Or maybe that's just me...maybe I've said too much...

Anyway, today we're going to take a look at The Lady Varnishes The Only Constant is Change, her contribution to this month's ancient history theme:

Coverage: 2-3 coats depending on the density you want
Formula & application: Easy, breezy, beautiful, awesomesauce
Description: An espresso brown filled with coppery-gold flakies and gold circular glitters, inspired by ancient coins.

Get it? Inspired by coins...The Only Constant is CHANGE??? I'd buy this polish because of the pun alone. But, it's also such a gorgeous shade of brown, and I love how the glitters look like gold coins cascading down my fingers. :)

Because we're coming up on St. Patrick's day, those little coins made me think of a leprechaun's gold, so I decided to go for a Celtic sorta feel for my nail art:

Hit The Bottle Polish To Love or Not to Love plate!

(Press samples and affiliate links ahead!)

Hello!

Today we're gonna take a look at a new plate from Hit The Bottle Polish, the To Love or Not to Love plate! To kick things off, here's a look at the video review I did of the plate:

And let's take a closer look at the plate:

Hit The Bottle To Love or Not to Love plate

You guys--this is my kind of Valentine's plate! Love is wonderful, and I love the opportunity to celebrate it. But not everybody is feeling love on Valentine's day, and not everybody wants to celebrate love in a cute, cuddly way! Some of us prefer barbed-wire hearts to lace ones, and sometimes you just want to steampunk that holiday out! This plate gives you so many different ways you can go this Valentine's season, and I love that. Single this year? There's an image for that. Heartbroken? There's an image for that. Feeling so happy and in love you have to shout it from the rooftops? There's an image for that.

Here are a couple of swatches I did for the video:

And let's jump into some manis! I showed you this first one last time:

Base Polish(es): Sally Hansen Get Mod
Stamping Plate(s): Hit The Bottle Polish To Love or Not to Love
Stamping Polish(es): UberChic Beauty Pure Black

I think this one would look amazing with the hearts in red, too...

And finally, because sometimes love hurts...

PPU Alert! The Lady Varnishes You Set My Heart A-Humming

(Press samples ahead!)

Hello!

Today we're going to take a look at The Lady Varnishes' offering for February's PPU Flora and Fauna theme:

The Lady Varnishes You Set My Heart A-Humming
The Lady Varnishes You Set My Heart A-Humming
Coverage: 3 coats
Formula & Application: Smooth and easy; dries quickly
Description: The Lady Varnishes You Set My Heart A-Humming is inspired by hummingbirds, and is purposefully sheer to capture their ethereal nature. The base has a peach/coral/orange tint that shifts with the help of a gold shimmer and UCC flakies that go gold-bronze-copper-green. This is gorgeous for a floaty, fantasy look, and would be amazing for pond manis.

For some reason, The Lady Varnishes polishes often bring out my love for vintage colors and patterns. So I pulled did a stamping gradient look with more vintage colors and an art deco-ish pattern:

Base Polish(es): The Lady Varnishes You Set My Heart A-Humming
Stamping Plate(s): Hit The Bottle Polish To Love or Not to Love (stay tuned for my full review!)
Stamping Polish(es): Hit The Bottle Polish Tangerine Scream and Make Mine A Mudslide

What do you think? I love hummingbirds and I think the color and shimmer play in this captures their elusive beauty well.

The Lady Varnishes You Set My Heart A-Humming will be on sale from February 7th-10th in the Polish Pickup store, for $13 a bottle, capped at 150 bottles. In the meantime, you can check out her other beauties in The Lady Varnishes' shop, and come out and hang with the Polish Pickup Pack here.

Big hugs,
M. xoxo
