Review: The Lady Varnishes, Part 1

(All items in this post were purchased by me, with the exception of So Hot Right Now, which was provided for review.)

Hey there!

I hope you're having a wonderful fall day, filled with wonderful fall things. Despite it being 80 degrees where I am, I am in full fall spirit, and am slowly sipping a pumpkin spice latte...mmm.

While I am in this lovely relaxed mood, I shall present to you a review that is long overdue, my most recent acquisitions from The Lady Varnishes. I have a number of lovelies to show you, so I will split the review into two, rather than overwhelm you with 12 million pictures all at once. :)

First up is So Very Pretty, from her So Very Pretty collection, is a reddish-brown shimmering jelly with gold, copper, and brown glitters:

The formula and application on this was good; the first coat was a little patchy but evened out quickly. The glitter distributed evenly without any fuss on my part. I love the combination of colors and sizes here--this is a great fall polish and reminds me of a pile of fall leaves. :)

For our next polish, we have Collector Of Oddities, from her 'How She Sparkles' collection. This is an olive-gray polish with white, green and blue glitters, as well as teeeeny teal holo glitter:

This formula on this was a little thick, and I did have to polish-whisper it a bit to get it on, but nothing that was too serious. I found it went on with nearly no problem if I didn't go over my previous strokes too many times. And the end result is definitely worth a little bit of care--I love this combination of colors, it's like looking into a gorgeous tide pool filled with wonderful things.

Next we have Deadly Desert, from her 'Be The Queen Of Oz' collection, a creamy khaki crelly (say that three times fast) with white and silver flecks, and great circles and hexes.

I adore the softness of this, and the beach feel to it. it reminds me of silver dollars and other shells on the seashore...The formula was good, and didn't give me any hassle; application was smooth, and the mix of glitter gives it a soothing feel, I think.

And last for today is So Hot Right Now, one of the new polishes from her recently-released Really Ridiculously Good Looking collection. So Hot Right Now is a robin's-egg-blue crelly with orange, blue and gold glitters:

This had an amazing formula, and application was as easy as though there were no glitter in the polish! The glitter distributed easily with no effort, and was smooth, smooth, smooth. I think the combination of colors results in a polish that is lively and fun, filled with positive energy.

I'll be back with three more lovelies tomorrow, including what my be my very favorite Christmas polish ever--even though she may not have intended it to be a Christmas Polish, lol. You can find The Lady Varnishes' Etsy shop by clicking here; her polishes are mostly $8.50-9, and are all three-free and vegan friendly. :)

Thanks for stopping by! Hugs and love,
M.

  1. We had the most beautiful day here, too, topping out at 77. October just does not last long enough-- gorgeous weather, the morning and evening chill, the changing leaves... Happy sigh :) These polishes look so unique and well defined. I find myself most drawn to Collector Of Oddities-- the name fits the whole thing so well, and the colors really work together.

  3. Your intro into this post with that weather report actually made me cry a bit...I would instantly trade you our 50-59 for your 80! :S (I seriously, seriously hate this colder part of the year).

At least the polishes are pretty!! :) I especially like Collector Of Oddities - both for the name & the colours.

    1. Oh noes, I'm so sorry! So I'm curious--are you there permanently, or temporarily?

    2. Permanently, it's my hometown (Ljubljana, Slovenia); but wouldn't mind moving someday to some place with milder/warmer winter :)

    3. I don't know much about Slovenia, but I have a feeling it's coooold!! Wish I could bob my head like Jeannie and switch us for a few days! :)
