NOTD: Gardening

Hello!

Today's challenge in my group was 'Gardening'. I love gardening, but only about 50% of the plants I try to grow survive, so apparently gardening doesn't love me. Luckily, I don't have to be good at it to manicure it...here is what I did:

To make this, I started with a base of Sonia Kashuk's Fairy Princess. I used China Glaze's Holly-Day to stamp the green form of the plants using Konad plate m83; I used Konad red, Sally Hansen's Insta-Dry Brisk Blue, Lively Lilac, and Lightning to make the flowers. To make the sun, I used Lightning and Sinful Colors Tapping Nails, with Salon Express plate SE19. I I put the yellow on first, then added a drop of Tapping Nails on top, and then ran a dotting tool through them to get the orange down into the grooves a little, in order to created a mottled effect on the sun (you might have to click on the picture so see it). The next time I do this, I'll do it with an orange stick--I just really didn't like the way it felt to use a metal tool across the top of my precious plates. I doubt it did any damage, but I'd feel more confident with a softer tool.

If you're interested, here's what Fairy Princess looks like undecorated; it's a very pretty mint-greenish color with a baby blue shimmer:

What I was going for was trying to show the plants growing, sort of like one nail representing on week in the life of the plants, with the flowers finally blooming at the end. :)

Thanks for stopping by, and please check out the designs created by the other bloggers who participated (shown below). :)
