NOTD: MSMD Monday Peacock Nails

Hello!!!

For today's Monkey-See-Monkey-Do monday, I've taken a shot at a peacock manicure, which I first saw on one of Sandy DandyNail's youtube tutorials, which you can find here. This is another manicure that has been fairly popular and I love it, so I figured it was time to try it myself, with my own twist, since my skills are getting a little bit better. :)

In my version, I've decided to use a layer of glitter to help with the sparkly peacock effect, and I've decided to use a different stamp on the accent nail:

I started with a base of Pure Ice's Not Now, which is a dark green with teal-ish leanings. Over that, I put a layer of All That Glitters' Very Peacock-ish, which is a blue glitter, also with teal-ish leanings. It has small glitter, medium glitter, bar glitter and large hex glitter (it's sooo pretty...I'll do a post showing it up close soon, cause it does deserve its own post). Then, I stamped the peacock pattern from Bundle Monster plate BM212 (on three of the nails), and the feather image from Cheeky plate D (on the accent nail) using China Glaze's Passion (which is now my go-to polish when I want to stamp in gold). I used a dotting tool to put dots of Ulta's Cocktails Anyone? over the peacock pattern.

I think this would also look pretty, and maybe a little more subtle, with the peacock pattern as the accent nail, and the feather on the other three. I might also vary the color of the dots the way DandyNails did; but I think I'd also like to try slightly bigger dots of purple with smaller dots of green in the center of them.

Thanks for looking, and please check out what the other bloggers did today, linked in below! :)

  1. So pretty! I'd love to try it with rhinestones instead of the dots but they're such a pig to remove...
